Yes, do tell, i heard you flip a toggle and it does something special. :D :D :D

Well its my take on a aggressive plexi hard rock amp. It has a true built in variac switch. The switch drops all the voltages just like a real variac. There you have it.

I have to say that EVERYTHING in your room sounded great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will this be an option on the Friedman - Marsha? Or another Friedman model amp?

So it drops DC, B+ volts? Is this considered "power scaling"? ;)

Not cryptic. Its a non master volume 100 watt plexi. No loop No options. Also its not power scaling its like a variac. It changes all the voltages in the amp just like you dropped the voltage with a variac. I have one or 2 tweaks to do still and it will be ready to go. So say a month on the availability.

How much? Is it available through TM or George?

Thanks Dave, sounds like an interesting amp.... I guess I better get my paper route money saved up

Hey Dave I read on Premier Guitars site that this amp uses 6CA7 output tubes. Did you go with the new production JJ's? Also does the variac switch raise the bias when set to the lower setting?

So I guess that means this won't do bedroom volume or anything close to it, right?

I talked to George and a MV can be added if you want one. The price is going to be somewhere around $3000 - $3250 and will be available in 3-4 weeks.

Yes the variac switch changes the bias in each setting. I would not recommend a master on it because it does not sound that great. A attenuator would be better.

Oh the tubes are EH 6ca7 tubes because they sounded closest to the real deal of any tube we tried.

Correct but standard Marshall wiring is fine for these. Head to head with the real deal they sounded the best out of anything we tried. Also in the Variac mode the plate voltage is way under 450v and only about 470 in the high mode. . We will see how they hold up. It was just the most accurate choice.

When are we gonna get some clips Dave?
