A little background on these tubes:
Many tube amps from the late 80s and early 90s were designed around these tubes (including Mesa Boogie, Marshall, Bogner, Lee Jackson, Mike Morin and Soldano).
These were produced until the early '90s and are a high gain tube that is very musical and warm sounding. They are nothing like the current production 12AX7 tubes that are made in China today. The 6N4 has a triple mica spacer on top of the plate structure and a square waffle-like getter which distinguish these sought-after tubes.
