We are very proud to present our new Torpedo Studio at NAMM 2014:

The Torpedo Studio is the next generation of digital loadbox: new features, new design, lighter weight. It updates and revamps the acclaimed VB-101, the first ever digital loadbox to have hit the market. Its new features notably include a new loadbox with increased admissible power, a switchable impedance (4, 8, or 16 Ohms), and the possibility to choose between resistive and reactive loadbox. Its new, enhanced design makes it a more advanced, much lighter successor to VB-101.

We'll be updating the Studio's webpage as we approach the official date of its release.

Stay tuned!

Maybe a "stock B" market organized by 2-notes would be a good solution ? (A sort of renewal program) ... Am I crazy ?

The VB-101 will get its firmware update to V3.0 which brings the stereo processing. About the loadbox, we plan to have small loadboxes you can plug to the VB-101.

Actually even with a program, you may have to spend something equivalent to the Torpedo Reload cost. Maybe a discount on the Reload (used as a complementary device) would be possible?

I thought about that and it's not crazy at all, but it's really hard to put in place, as we have to deal this with our distributors and dealers.

 What?
Can please give some more details of both?
When will the new firmware for VB-101 available?

Can't wait :)

Cheers!

The firmware is almost finished but Torpedo Remote is not updated yet.

I guess we are talking about early March for Firmware V3 and the new Torpedo Remote with La Boutique.

About the stereo processing :

You get A and B channels, which can be independent or linked. By pressing 1 time on, say, the "GEAR" or "Miking" or 'Post FX' you go to the A settings, press another time to go to the B settings.

Really, really simple. ;)

On VB-101 you only have one Amp or Line input, but S/PDIF and AES will allow full stereo/dual mono operation.

Torpedo Studio will have 2 X Line input, instead of the Pre-sim output + 1 Line input on VB-101.

So does that mean, with V3 i can output two processed mono signals via SPDIF?
So Cabinet A / Mic A on the left side and Cabinet B / Mic B on the right side??

I can't tell you, how much i love you :D
I remembered we talk about this feature in in this forum maybe two years ago.
At this time you told me, that this is impossible because of the hardware and processing power :)
Now you've done it.. YIPPIIEEE!
I can't wait till March...

Hi Guys,
I love Two Notes, so I'm really happy to hear you're coming out with a new Torpedo.. Of course I'm also bummed out cause I just received my brand new VB-101 only TWO WEEKS AGO :) Had I known, I would have definitely waited for the new model.

So I have a few questions. Other then the type of load, will the Torpedo Studio have other advantages over the VB-101, for example improved latency? Also, you mentioned that it will have stereo line inputs, does that mean it could take 2 source amplfiers in a stereo rig? If not, could a VB-101 and a Torpedo Studio be used in a stereo setup to record my left and right amp heads, or would a difference in latency cause a problem with this?

Any idea of the street price of the Studio in relation to VB-101?

Please keep us VB-101 owners in mind when rolling out the new Studio. Remember that we paid top dollar to have the best, most uncompromising version of the Torpedo product, and that if there is a version that surpasses it many of us will be ready to upgrade or switch if offered a good deal.

Best of luck rolling out the new Studio.. can't wait to get my hands on one down the line.

Ian

Hi Ian,

VB-101 and Studio share the same architecture, CPU and converters.

We change:

- the loadbox which is still MONO (in other words, you can't have 2 amps, but you can have 1 amp and 1 preamp (line) or two products in Lin L&R
- we replace the Pre-sim output by a line input
- the design of the front and reduce a little the depth of the product

Studio and Reload will share 90% of the firmware, VB-101 will have everything regarding the Stereo possibilities. Latency stays the same (actually it is a little higher on Studio but we are still in the process of rewriting the firmware).

We don't forget the VB-101 users. ;)

Thank You for your quick reply.
Two Notes is a great company precisely because your contact with your customers (and understanding of our needs) is so great.

So would a VB-101 with a Reload in the Speaker Out Jack pretty much approximate the performance of the Studio?

Thanx
Ian

for me the most important thing would be the dynamic load box with selectable impedance.

how would the Reload be incorporated into the VB?

thanks!

I do still love the VB as is right now!

can only imagine how much better it will be with the dynamic load box.

Yes, that would be very, very close. Actually you have more analog options on the Reload, but a VB-101 with the Reload loadbox would look a lot like the Torpedo Studio.
