Van Halen Plot Reunion: David Lee Roth Plans to Join Eddie and Alex for Major Summer Tour
The reunion that Van Halen fans have been awaiting for twenty-two years began in December, when David Lee Roth walked into Eddie Van Halen’s Hollywood home studio. There he rejoined the band for a rehearsal, singing fourteen Van Halen classics. “They totally got along on a personal level,â€

sad day for VH fans...

22 years we waited for dave to come back and fuckin WOLFGANG'S ON BASS!

ed's totally hyping this fuckin' kid...

count me out on this tour if it happens...

can't believe any promoters would back that lineup.

if they can't work w/ MA (which is hard to believe the guy is so nice) then they should get an experienced bass player...not his fuckin 15 year old kid who's never played a live gig in his life...

welcome to BIZARRO-HALEN

I dont have a problem with Wolfie on Bass, Im betting that genetics has given him the ability to hang...

What I do have a problem with is Eddies attitude towards Michael Anthony. The guy has never passed on an opportunity to slag MA, saying that he doesnt carry his weight but enjoyed all the benefits of being in VH..

Bob and I spoke about it and I think that MA's abilities as a background vocalist and a bassist are gravely underrated. Ive heard guys who can NAIL EVH's playing but the tunes just dont sound the same without those sig background vocals IMO..

On a another note, I was hanging outside of NAMM with Doug Aldrich when this guy Glen La Ferman came up to say hi and he was telling us the whole story about the RnR hall of fame. He also told us that MA is probably the wealthiest member of VH. He said that the guy bought row after row of apartment buildings and all kinds of real estate and is more than set for life... I was happy to hear that because I always thought of MA as a real solid standup nice guy...

as usual i wasn't too clear :D

i don't have a problem w/ wolfie on bass as long as it's not a DLR reunion...

if it's wolf/ed/al/singer #4...then fine...just don't give me a DLR reunion w/ wolfie...

WTF?

MA will be greatly missed on this tour...notice how DLR isn't 100%...i'd be shocked to se him agree to this joke lineup

lol! Nestle Quik...

No MA? I'll pass.

He's the only sane and professional member they had left. I guess that's why he's gone.

Id tend to agree with this statment. I think MA is every bit as crucial to Original VH as DLR....

You're not kidding, the entertainment content is always very high when VH is concerned.

You want entertainment? Go over the Roth Army forums and read the discussions there. LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the positive side is "no Michael Anthony bass solo"

lol!!!!

I agree 100% Carl! Whenever I listen to old boots of VH I always cringe at Mike's solo spot. It just hurts listening to the crap noise.

I want to see a Gary Cherone reunion tour.

That was sarcastic. But I was just thinking- if Extreme reformed too, they could tour together. Van Hextreme!

you can knock gary but ed was "on fire" that tour (pun intended) and gary sang the DLR era great (songs that hadn't been played in 15 years) and the sammy stuff great..

great tour...i'd like that guy back, especially for a tour

^ yeah, i like gary cherone. It wasn't a great album, but it had one or two decent songs, and extreme are excellent. That could be a kick ass tour- if it kicks off in Belfast, obviously.

But... why? Ed is OUT TO LUNCH. Alcohol has taken away everything. All you have to do is see those NAMM videos to realize this. There will be no more quality from Ed regardless of who else turns up. Unless you set the clock back to 1982, this thing is done. The Cherone album sucked... The live performances were nothing to write home about either, although compared to that shit 2004 tour, it was 1982 again...

I was laughing my ass off watching the NAMM vids, you can see how uneasy the Fender guys were as Ed was speaking just waiting for something screwed up while chain smoking in a building using his "superstar" status.

Why did he say that the guitar was made by pictures alone?!?!?!?!? No real sniffer is going to buy a reproduction guitar that was made with pictures as a guideline :?

The amp was made in 10 days?!?!?!? That freaking amp was on full display during his porno party :o

Fender has made a deeal with the devil to get their foot into the high gain door and man is it going to hurt when that door slams.
