Got my JVM but

I think there's something wrong...or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Clean green sounds good...but the channel's volume knob doesn't change the volume at all...it's the same volume all the way around. The master makes it louder or quieter.

The OD channels have NO gain at all...weaker than the gain on the clean and crunch channels...is there some way to set it so it kicks in???
 
Sounds like a bad preamp tube, or maybe one got dislodged in transport?
 
hmmm...I'll have to open it up and check them...it WAS shipped by UPS and the tubes were in the slots, not seperated.
 
the tubes all seem to be sitting just fine. It does look like the screws to the back plate were a little stripped though.
 
In the green mode on the clean channel volume isnt supposed to work. You just use the gain knob as a volume. Look at whats written under the volume knob on the clean channel.

No gain in the OD's? Thats not right though.
 
ok...makes sense...but what about the od channels? There's no gain at all...or hardly any.

Thats not right. Do you have volume but no gain? V1 and V2 are your gain preamp tubes. Try new tubes in there if you have some.
 
I would pull the tubes and put them back in. This way you can make sure they are in there right, and they didn't get knocked loose. It will only take a minute to try.
 
there's volume but it's pretty low on those channels. I just moved the preamp tubes around a little...gonna try it again.

Make sure the second master volume isnt ingaged on any of the modes in the OD channels and is turned down. Makes sure your volumes are turned up on those channels and use your master volume to control over all volume.
 
nope...same thing. No gain at all on the od channels and low volume.
 
Did you check ALL the volume knobs and make sure they are up?
 
I had all channel volumes around 9...and tried both masters...same problem. The green on OD1 had hardly any sound at all
 
V1 is the one with teh metal tube around it and V2 is next to it.
 
Wow, that doesn't sound good. Got any other tubes to try out? I'd assume not, since if I remember correctly, your rig before this was a Vetta.

tried 2 new tubes...no difference. I'm pretty pissed right now.
 
I tried just about everything. No luck...I don't know what to do. I guess I'm going to have to chew out MF right now. The screws on the back were stripped a little...like someone had taken the back plate off before.

Oh holy crap dude, mine is gonna be shipped from MF tomorrow, I hope they aren't selling other people's rejects as new. That sucks man, I hope you can get it resolved soon.
