Get some Evian. When I'm not drinking beer, I am detoxing with that and Pomegranite juice.

Did you try replacing ALL of the preamp tubes one at a time? Try that. Or heck, you could just try swapping the existing preamp tubes around in different slots. For some reason, that seems to work for me.

I only have 2 extra preamp tubes here. I tried those in the 1st 2 slots...did nothing. I also tried moving around the existing tubes...same problem. I can't do anymore tonight because my daughters are in bed now.

ah man thats crap :( I hope you get this fixed really fast and they get you a replacement straight away. I hate it when you look forward to something and it arrives broken

Sounds to me like you have one or more dead preamp tubes. When you can, I'd try putting all stock preamp tubes back in the amp, then swapping them out for known "good" preamp tubes one at a time. When nothing changes, put the stock tube back in. That's how you do it when you only have 2 replacement preamp tubes. I'd start with v1, v2, v3, etc...

May not be the problem, but that's the most likely cause.

I'll be able to try that tomorrow. I didn't have alot of time tonight to mess with the tubes.

Good advice.... good luck

btw...what's the preamp tube that's next to the power tubes? It wasn't the same as the 4 that are together.

Could be the valve that mixes the reverb with the main signal. It's routed in Parallel with main signal and mixed through a valve.

I know a bad preamp tube would kill the gain, but would it also affect the volume too?

What's up with the tubes in these amps? This is the 3rd or 4th one i have read about on the forums that has had an issue.

Phase inverter.

just got off the phone with MF...I cancelled the order with them. They weren't any help at all. They wanted me to add another amp onto my card, which doesn't have enough room on it, and then they'd send a new amp out while the defective amp goes back.

 Boo! That sucks dude. The ONLY reason I orderd mine from MF is because I could return it if I didn't like it. If there was any way I could have played one before buying I would have gotten it from someone who could check it out before shipping to make sure it worked.

That totally sucks. Even if you were able to figure out the problem and fix it...preamp tube or fx loop or whatever....I don't know about you, but I'd probably still send it back anyway if it looks like the back plate screws were stripped (ie somebody had been dicking with it before). Sounds like they sent you a return for sure...
