Got my JVM but

I'm going to try a tube swap this morning and then decide what to do. If that doesn't work, it's going back to MF and I'm cancelling with them. I'll order from Sam Ash.
 
Rich, to bad about this amp! :doh: Just pick up a Randall RM head and have the modules you want!
 
ok...did the tube swap and it's still not any better. There's definitely something wrong with the od channels. The gain knob does nothing...turning up or down doesn't change the sound at all. I'm just going to order one from Sam Ash and be done with it. Same 12 month no interest with them.
 
I got it straightened out...I hope.

I called MF back and demanded a supervisor. After a little hawwing, I got them to authorize a pre-return and upgrade me to 2nd day air at no cost. As soon as this defective pacakge shows up in fedex tracking, they'll ship the new one (and I made sure he put a note on my order to send me a NEW one). I'm going to drop this off today and will call them back AS SOON AS I see it tracking.

I know that you must be totally bumbed but hopefully MF will do the right thing and make it right.

For the 2 channels that DID seem to work...it sounded great...very clear. But I'm dying to hear the OD channels. The reverb was VERY nice as well.

Damn man I'm sorry to hear that this was a rough deal for you. I think once you get one that works properly you'll be very happy.

The other week I was swapping out preamp tubes. I do this with every amp I've owned. I have a ton of old ones laying around and try to see if I can get to amp a little more this or a little less that. Anywho after one swap the OD channels were very quiet but sounded right. Well V3 turned out to be the problem.
 
well the amp has been dropped off at a fedex drop location...hopefully it tracks later today.
