Lets put it this way...
I've never in my life seen Ralphie turn down the gain and drop a gain stage before on any amp...For God Sakes, he boosts a Mark 4 with the gain on 10....LOL
I think we both agreed last night that we would rather have this amp than a Herbert.
It's been a while since I've played a VH4, so I can't compare it to any other Diezel other than a Herbert or Einstein.

If anyone has squealing in any amp, it's usually due to a bad preamp tube or microphonic pickup.
Unless people are diming the gain, putting the master up and standing dead in front of the amp.....I wouldn't doubt a few have done that and wondered why it's squealing/feeding back...LOL

I already give My blessing on Marks amps. I love what Mark does with his amplifiers and that will never be a secret. He is without a doubt one of my favorite amp modders/makers and an all around great guy/friend.
I also think that Mark's amps will have something different to offer from the jVM, so owning both amps would kill.

Problem with needing one of these is I probably need a new cab to go with it..only have v30s here and it seems I need some other speaker to get the best from a Marshall....G12H30s are calling.

I paid 1200 new for my jvm out the door brand new, at that price it still didn't blow me away. I have more than enough money to buy and keep it but I didn't like it. I can afford pretty much whatever amps and guitars I want and if I like my beloved splawn better so what. Like you said earlier I sell my amps and my opinion shouldn't count. But I've been playing uberschalls for 2 years, powerballs for 3 years, and splawns over a years. So there are some amps I do keep.

I think the JVM sounds just fine with v30's. If I am not mistaking, I think v30's are loaded in the cabs that match the JVM. The speaker swaps are just a preferance thing.

I think the JVM sounds just fine with v30's. If I am not mistaking, I think v30's are loaded in the cabs that match the JVM. The speaker swaps are just a preferance thing.

I love the combination of the V30s and the G12H. I run through 2 cabs. I paid 1750 out the door for my JVM and I consider it a steal for all the tone and options this thing has. There will probably be some JVMs coming up used soon, though. You know how musicians are...JKD":afa6d said::|::QBB:

Uh oh, are V30's slowly growing on you? I don't mind them, but i still like MC90's more. They seem like a smoother speaker than V30's, but IMHO both are very good for heavier stuff. But i see Boogie using the MC90 in everything from Lonestars to Recto cabs and it sounds good in everything. And for a little tiny bedroom 1x12, the tiny Lonestar special kicks some ass with a boost pedal.

I'm not breaking balls...but my friend Mike is the purchasing agent for GC's on the entire east coast. He ordered 145 JVM's a few weeks ago and his price was higher than that per unit.
I just find it hard to believe since I also have the dealers price list....
Just doesn't add up unless the guy stole the amp and sold it to you out the back door.
Like I said...I'm not getting involved in this argument, but can you post a copy of your receipt please...
