Don't remember, when I bought it, I wasnt' aware so much of the different revisions, but if it helps any, I bought it brand new, in November of 2004. I bought the whole fullstack as well, Uber and 2 Uberkabs all at the same time. That store liked me, that's for sure. HAHA.
 
Trust me when I tell you this, I get the deals I say I do. There's plenty of people who can back me up because I also got them deals too. I don't see why anybody would question if I get the deals, look at my gear in my link, I have it so I'm not lying about it. Jb,guitarman,Megadeth,guitarslingerans,duolos,derekb and lots of other can vouch for me. I'm always honest and I don't see where I should be questioned. I've gotten a lot of forum memebers deals on gear. I have a bunch of dealers I deal with too, not just 1. I don't need to go around lying about what I pay for stuff. I'm not selfish about getting people discounts either.

Melodic death metal, I guess is what you could call it. Along the lines of Darkane, Soilwork, older In Flames, At The Gates. We use 2 tunings mainly, drop B, and C# Std.

I honestly don't care what you guys wanna think. Ill continue to buy gear and its not gonna really matter. I have 6 dealers I deal with who hook me up. And in return I send them customers and they get discounts but not as low as I get.

At any rate, Zao is a standup guy. One of the better Guys on the Forum without any question.
I can't see why it's an issue if he Doesn't like the amp. Sometimes you can just tell right out of the gate that somethings not for you.
And BTW, Tom did get that amp for $1200. I'm thinking about picking one up for that price myself after all the Hype that's been generated in this thead.
BTW STEVEVHT give me a call Dog... I want to roll with the Cab deal man. It's all setup.

I am using my head.

People make shit up all the time on the Internet to bluff their way through impressing people, especially if they have an alterior motive.

For example, saying someone should have gotten something for free for ordering 10 of something and that profit was (some made up number)


If Steve had placed an order for 100 JVM's - then yeah, if I was him I would have expected some comps.

Most companies don't give a shit about an order of less than 20....as indicated by how long we have had to wait for these 10 that were ordered, when other places were getting them by the truckload.
 
Wow! What a thread! Just for the record, Tom did pay that for the amp because he offered to get me one too. So, there, that's settled.

As for all the other stuff..................Whatever, I'm tired after reading 10 freakin pages. :aww:

Not worth wasting your time on. Carl is (in my opinion) a very gifted player with a great ear for certain tones, however, he seems to feel the need to be a complete asshole to people for no reason I can comprehend. I will continue to enjoy his killer covers and tones while ignoring his general asswipe attitude.

Ok... if he attacks me perhaps I'll fire something witty back if the mood strikes... but only in fun... nothing said on these boards bothers me enough to really get mad...

With the review Steve gave, I really want to try this JVM out. I'm doubting it will "kill" my Splawn in my eyes, but I am curious to give it a shot :D .

I still want to check out the Vintage Modern as well, but the GC near my house doesn't have it plugged in, it's sitting in the front on display :thumbsdown: . They don't even have a JVM in yet. It's a low number store, so it's usually last to get the flagship amps in.

My reqirements in an amp are a Fender-esque clean tone, a Plexi style crunch, and a dead on single channel JCM 800 distortion with a bit more gain available. My Splawn QR gets close enough for me, I just need something more vintage sounding.
