I really shouldn't spend any money, but I'm tempted.

Oh man, what timing!!!! I just received this e-mail so it looks like I'll be able to afford this soon!

FROM THE DESK OF:MR.CHRIS JOSHUA

AUDITING UNIT,BANK OF AFRICAN(BOA)

COTONOU BENIN-REPUBLIC,

WEST AFRICA.

EMAIL:c_joshua12@yahoo.fr

Dear Friend,

I am Mr.Chris Joshua. The Director in charge of Auditing section BANK

OF AFRICAN (B.O.A)COTONOU BENIN-REPUBLIC,in WEST AFRICA.Forgive my

indignationif this message comes to you as a surprise.I have decided to

contact you on a project that will be very beneficial to both of us. During

our auditing in this Bank,I came across some amount of money belonging

to a deceased foreigner who died with his entire family on October 31st

1999 in a plane crash. The fund has been dormant in his account with

this Bank without any claim of the fund in our custody from his relation

before my discovery to this development. He was a Contractor/Enviromentalist.

The said amount was USA.$7.5M(SEVEN MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND

UNITED STATES DOLLARS).I want you to know that I never master minded the

death of the deceased fellow and his entire family.Their death is a accour

naturally. All the whole arrangement to put claim over this fund as the

Bonafide next of kin to the deceased, has been put in place and

directives will be relayed to you as soon as you indicate your interest and

willingness to assist me and also benefit your self to this great

business opportunity. In this country as a civil servant(A Banker),we are not

allowed to operate a foreign account.

This is the actual reason why it will require a second party or fellow

who will forward claims as the next of kin to the Bank and also present

an account where he will need the money to be re-transferred into on

his request. Our Banking law stipulates that if such money remained

unclaimed after Five years, the money will be transferred into the Bank

treasury as unclaimed fund.

The request of foreigner as next of kin in this business is occasioned

by the fact that the customer was a foreigner and a BENIN cannot stand

as next of kin.I dont want this money to go into the Bank treasury as

unclaimed Bill.Be assured this transaction is 100% risk free.

On conclusion of this Project, you will be entitled to 40% of the total

sum as gratification, while 60% will be for me.Please you have been

adviced to keep "top secret" as I am still in service and intend to retire

from service after I conclude this deal with you. I will fly down to

your country or any place we shall agreed on for subsequent sharing of

the fund according to percentages previously indicated and further

investment will be discussed. On your acceptance to be my partner please

email me.

I look forward to receive your urgent reply.

Yours Faithfully,

Mr.Chris Joshua.

Yeah, it looks like the total shipped is still under $900. Ugh, that forum won't let me search without logging in.

Have a look on bugmenot.com - there might be a password for that forum there...

Very cool to hear, I suggested that he investigate DLP along with Plasma and LCD when he posted his TV thread on HC :D

Not an AV geek but I've had a Samsung DLP for a few years now and have been satisfied with it, some see "rainbows" with the DLP's and the bulbs can be expensive to replace so probably not a TV you'd want to fall asleep and leave on all night to shorten bulb life, great price compared to what I paid but not sure about Toshiba's DLP quality.

I don't think you could find a better deal out there. My parents bought a 32" Toshiba for $1k this past christmas. It is very nice and gets high reviews. Check amazon.com for reviews, too.

I have a 44" LG flat screen with DLP and I really like it! High def channels look unreal!

:)

Does it do cleans?

I went with LCD.

I saw a LCD and a DLP next to each other, and while the contrast was greater with the DLP, the LCD wins hands-down in sharpness. The DLP was fuzzy in comparison, and these were two TV's at the same price.

This is what we got:

I went thru this a couple Months ago....I first bought a 65" Mits 1080P DLP....the high def and the dvd pics were amazing. Nice full warm colors... I think the bulbs really have alot to do with that...
However, normal broadcast on dig cable I couldnt deal with. Stuff like a ball game that wasn't hi def pretty much gave me a headache.
I'm sure it was due to the fucking size of that thing....a smaller display would probably be fine.
I ended up taking it back and going with a Pioneer 60" Elite plasma...I couldnt be happier... :)
Dicovery channel on high def is really something..

I took a look at the forums, I just can't search.

I would be all over this right now, however, there's a thread/poll there and people are complaining about the bulb life on the DLP's, and a new bulb is $200 with a short waiting period (1-2 weeks) to get one. That sucks...

Maybe I'll just stay in the stone age for now and wait until LCD's are low enough.

I went with LCD also 46" Sony Bravia. Worth every penny even though it doesnt do high gain.

I don't care about a clean channel, if it doesn't do high gain, I don't want it.

I went to Costco last night to checkout what they had and I noticed something about the LCD's and Plasma's. When there's quick action (saw it on a skiing and basketball clip) the TV pixels seem to scatter. When the action isn't really fast the TV's look great. I'm guessing this is normal and you just get used to it after a while?

The better LCD's have quicker response times - 3ms and 4ms -the lower the time the better. Prevents what your talking about it.
