Anyone know what the markup is on Taylor guitars?

Since prices are usually negotiable I have been thinking about buying a new Taylor acoustic, mainly the 414CE or the 614CE, but I was wondering what is the usual markup on these? How much can I expect to get knocked off the price tag.. even if I do get a certain amount knocked off, can I still do the 12 months no interest finance on it? This is assuming I go to GC or Sam Ash..

Basically I wont have enough to buy it now, but I will after tax season when I get a bonus from work, this gas is killing me so I thought I would take advantage of the 12 month no interest thing and get it now

You have to pay the listed price to get the 0% financing at GC or SA. There's a small store around here that carries the whole Taylor line. If you'd like I can put you in touch, his prices are better GC's.

Damn, thats what I was thinking

Only reason I considered going to GC or SA was because of the no-interest financing. 1 Year is a long time.. so thats a good thing for me :)

I have asked people before and will say again. It should be ok to ask what people and how they will deal on taylors or anything for that matter. But remember some people are trying to make a living selling these things.

That margin is part of their grocery budget, rent money, fuel bill, insurance. That is why I have a problem asking the "mark-up" on them. There is Retail, MAP, and dealer. Retail and MAP you can find anywhere. Dealer is strictly confidential. It is as important as a chef's popular recipe...

This also falls under the same reason some amp companies don't want people to post gut-shots, or amp-porn as some call it.

Please be respectful and watch how you word your questions...

Thanks,

Sorry didn't intend for this to be offensive.

I was just wondering what it is so I can figure if its worth the trouble to try to get a deal on one. O well, it doesnt matter to me anymore since financing is offered only on list price. After I go to GC or SA again this weekend I am going to make the purchase.

The 614CE is my fav, man even my acoustics I like in Maple.

I wish I can afford the 614! Maybe if I sell my RG550 when I get it I can afford it  But that is not going to happen

I hate gas

I'm a Taylor dealer. If you know which one you want I might be able to help you out.....cant offer 1 year financing though.

the one I want is $2k on the musiciansfriend site :( its the 414CE-LTD

$2k is a hard hit on me for a single month haha, but just let me know how much you can get it for then I might consider borrowing a very big amount from my friend hahaha

The points on Taylors suck. I make decent money selling them, but the second I discount even $50 I lose a ton of commission.

I hate discounting Taylors.

I sold a T5 custom a few weeks ago, and made like $30. $30 on a damn near $3000 dollar guitar 8|

Yea I wasnt expecting much of a discount so I am probably just going to pay full price and buy it at GC, unless I buy it on eBay but with acoustics it seems like there is much more maintenance involved than electrics because of humidity so I would rather pay a few hundred more for a brand new one. If anything they have a 45 day return policy
