OK...back in the day. W 48th St. in New York was/is where all the top pro's went to get their gear when in town. Manny's and Sam Ash were/are next door to each other and when you bought something and were leaving the store....an imposing guy (not cute girl) checked your receipt and merchandise or guitar case or whatever as you were leaving. Guitar Center does the same, for the same reasons..high traffic, employee mistakes, etc. and I feel to have sort of the W 48th st. NYC feel. I worked in guitar sales and technical services for Drome Sound Music in upstate N.Y. in the mid 70's and we didn't have anyone checking at the door until some major shit was coming up missing..even a rack mount amp...that went out in an unchecked guitar case. :kaffee:
 
Yesterday I went into a McDonalds and ordered lunch...and they had the nerve to ask me to pay before they gave me my food! What, am I a fucking criminal! Now I make sure I only give my money to places that dont make you pay before you eat. :)

You're right! Tomorrow, I'm going to go down to my local GC, buy 3 guitars, and right when the guy asks me for my receipt, I'll start screaming, return everying, and run home to type all this up on a forum.

The issue of checking receipts is not my issue with them, it is the attitude they give you if you come in returning something or asking for a box to ship something. I have found that a lot. That is why I tend to deal with the more mom and pop guitar stores. But they do carry a lot of shit and have some good deals from time to time.

They do also rape you when trading stuff, but eveyrone knows that already :D

They never help when you ask for a box to ship something. It's like hit or miss when you check their dumpster :lol:
