What electric guitar picks are you using, what string gauge?

Just an FYI:

I did go with the Dunlop TORTEX 1.0 mm pick and they are an improvement. But I then found the Dunlop Ultex Jazz III John Petrucci Signature 1.5 mm

They are for my taste even more of an improvement with the added polished tip. Purchased a 6 pack for $3.29 free shipping from "Strings and Beyond" at http://www.stringsandbeyond.com/jimduuljaiii1.html.

They're a bit expensive but I don't like any modern pics. More of an old-school player. It feels best with the head facing the East. Kind of a pain because the grip changes depending on your orientation, but worth it.

I like heavy strings.

I used to use the green Jim Dunlop Tortex 0.88mm picks. I still have a few lying around.

I use the purple Jim Dunlop picks that must be 3mm thick or something. They are very chunky. One end is thinner so I rotate the pick if I want a softer attack.

Those old Greek ones were great, much better than that mass-produced Roman crap that followed.

Pitch Black Tortex Jazz III 1.14 D'Addario 9-42 EXL. Standard tuning...

I like the Dunlop 2.0 picks and Elixir 10s. Using 7 strings in standard tuning. I get a better feel for dynamics with the really thick picks and just adjust my grip and attack to soften things.

I used to use the 2 mm purple dunlop picks 20 years ago. Now .60mm.
10-46 strings.
Just strung one up with the Ernie Ball Colbalts. Definitely a difference.

I am using primarily GHS Boomers .10-46 and these picks.
