I quite like orange cabs being orange. I generally like cabs to match amps cuz it looks smarter (i.e. diezel on diezel cab, marshall on marshall cab), but if it doesn't match completely then I quite like it if it's quite different looking, is an odd colour, or if it has obviously different logos or is a different size. Then it has a cool mis-matched vibe. So personally I'd go for the orange orange cab if I bought one.

One of my friends had an orange head and cab. Sounded very nice when I jammed with him. I was using my rack then though. I'd like to compare them now to my diezel. (The diezel is definitely a more "me" amp regardless though).

It's factory made this way, i'm guessin it was a special order or something cause it used to belong to a British indie rock band called the 22-20's. They supported Supergrass and Oasis and did all the big festivals with it, so I guess you could say it's broken in!! HAHA!!
In fact I used it along side our other guitarist who runs a Bogner Ecstacy through a Bogner Ubercab, and even he was well impressed with the change the cab made to my sound! He even commented that it sounded very close to his rig! I was pleased :D

Hey Warren !

New info on the cab ?

Hi Peter!
There has been no band practice this weekend and my cab is locked up in the hall where we practice
I'm affraid it will have to be next weekend now.....sorry. BTW is there any way you could tell me the age of my vh4 by the serial number? It is; 040447. Are there any mods for this amp or is it up to date?
It used to belong to Angus Neal, I think he has some clips on your website.
Cheers, warren.

Peter,

I found this on ebay if it helps, has a back off pic. Has different speakers retro-fitted, but I thought it might help. Dunno if it's the same as the one bleedblack has.

ebay Auction says:

"ORANGE 4X12 CAB CELESTION GREENBACKS 16OHM 100WATTS

SPEAKERS AND CAB ARE MADE IN ENGLAND.

speakers are the same type used in the jimi hendrix reissue cabs, they sound really good and have only been in this cab for a couple of months, they replaced the g12 75t that were in it when i bought it.

tolex isn't perfect as this cab has been gigged a few times but only knocks and no major tears. nothing is missing this cab is in very good condition.

i think the cab is from the 1990s the speakers are from a cab made in 1999 and were used very little.

fixed price auction no offers other than the price asked will be considered.

the speakers in this cab are £75 each to buy new

A NEW ORANGE CAB IS ABOUT £600 with cheaper speakers although still very good (vintage 30s)

for sale as i have just bought a vintage laney cab."

Dunno if that's any use...

Hello

Yesterday I got a huge penis enlargement :)

I picked up my new Herbert and my new Orange box from the shipper. I will try to post some soundfiles in a few days.

Is that a Diezel Hubert?

What do you make of the Orange cab compared with others?

I'm tempted as they are £600 new here in the UK, and I might be able to pick one up 2nd hand for about £350-£400, not £800-900 new like all the Diezel/Bogner/VHT USA made cabs. I'm broke at the mo' though and by the time I've got any money Diezel will be building cabs in germany, so I'll be waiting to hear about those, and see how much they cost!

Mmmm, I wonder what Peter has up his sleeve...

Actualy I asked Peter S. if he can make me a special edition with an "u" instead of the "er" - but this would have been very extensive...

In my first band the drummer always named my Herbert instead of Hubert :) maybe that was an omen...

I've only tried Engl and Orange Cabs on the Herbert. Both sound good. The Orange sounds very thick and very powerfull. The cab is very good in the lower frequencies. The sound is very clear and correct. All in all a perfect combination in my ears.
