Hi there, just added a brand new Einstein to my collection, which is now
Bogner Shiva
VHT Pitbull 50ST
Diezel Einstein
The VHT was supposed to cater to my heavier sounds, but now that I have the Diezel, the Pitbull can go (cat beat dog so to say )
I have some Questions to you long time users:
Model Revisions:
Have there been any revisions of the Einstein or is my early series model (Ser# 003/125) identical to the current production ones?
Settings:
Are there any sample settings? How do you guys set Channel Volume vs. Master Volume vs. Presence vs. Depth for example? How many mids do you dial in? How much gain?
Parallel vs. Serial Loop:
I have lots of fun with the amp, but it seems the Parallel loop is almost not useable with my FX unit (Lexicon MX200 - too much FX level even on very low settings when I do as advised and make it 100% wet), so I'll rather use the Serial Loop.
Master / overall Volume:
Master Vol seems quite sensitive on the lower end of the spectrum, not easy to dial in those great tones at just TV-level like I can with the Shiva. Once you have it, it sounds good at lower volumes, but needs some rather sensitive adjustment to get there. Wondering whether a different pot (linear taper?) could improve the situation.
Summary:
Other than that, I like the "Eini" a lot, it is the perfect companion to the Shiva which is more on the smooth side of the spectrum, the Einstein can cover the more agressive/beastier stuff. Funny I went for another "German Design" amp
My most liked sound is actually Mode3 in Ch1 or Mode2, which can really give you that Plexi with some added razorblades feel. [/b]
