Yeah it sucks. It could be one thing which I'm going to try before next practice.
I had a 5150 cabinet that I loved, then i thought I blew it. I took the back off and saw it had a piece of wood in the center of the 4 speakers, attached at the front, that extended to the back of the cabinet. I realized it was pretty tight against the back BUT NOT attached. I thought it may have been the wood vibrating against each other. Sure enough I measured it out and drilled a large 4 inch wood screw into the back and it NEVER "farted out" again. The bass was BEYOND tight.
I'm am PRAYING that this is the same issue occuring again. My band plays REALLY loud (the Herbert on channel 3 is at around 2 o'clock for the channel volume and about the same for the master volume). When I palm mute its has started going "BRRRRPHHHH BRPPHHHHH". What's really odd is it isn't the bass that seems to trigger it, it's the Mids. When I back the mids down to around 10 o'clock it goes away, even if I push the bass up and the deep knob as well. As soon as those mids go past noon, around 1-2ish it starts getting REALLY bad.
Anyone else have a problem such as this? I really hate to say it, but I think my Orange cabinet sounds better, I CRANK it and it never farts and the bass is insane. I recently took the back off of the Orange and was suprised to see it DOES NOT have that middle peice of wood in it, first cab I've seen that doesn't infact.
It's sort of disappointing, I paid a good bit more for the Diezel thinking it would be the ulimate cabinet, especially with the Herbert (I love the herbert BTW )
