Person who bought my MX250 just contacted me through the Ebay system saying there were cracks around the heel when she got it (received the guitar on May 14th). I asked for pics thinking maybe there were some hairline finish cracks I may have missed.

She sent me the pics and there is no way in hell I would have missed this. I am certain something happend after she got it.

As many of you know, I take care of issues when they op up, but I am not taking responsibility for something that is not my fault.

I sent here this response:

I got the pics and I have to tell you, there is no way I could have missed something like that. Something happened after the guitar left my posession, either in shipment or after. I have no problem taking care of things when it is my fault, but that did not happen here.

If I had even the slightest doubt that I could have missed that, I would offer a partial refund, but I do not, as those cracks are pretty obvious.

I own up to issues that are mine, but I will not take responsibility for something that isn't my fault.

My bet is she will leave me negative feedback, but I am not "buying" poitive feedback. :(

Simple. Since you know that the guitar was in perfect condition. tell the person to file a claim with the shipping company.

Should have mentioned...I already offered that option up.

+1 tell her to file a claim with shipping. And tell her if she has issues to come here and we'll set her straight. :D

She got the guitar 10 days ago and is just telling you this now?

Ahhhh!! Tha plot thickens!! Then it is her fault. If she does not want to file a cliam then somethings up and that's a fact! Wait for the bad feedback and then you can comment. as soon as people see what went on. they wont have a problem with you haveing 1 negative feedback!

Sometimes thats not enof with some people, I had a situation something like this happen with a item that I sold. It was fine for years when I had it but apparently after it was shipped it had issues of some sort. In cases like this it doesnt matter what you say or what measures your willing to go, they still are out for blood from you and no one else.

Tell her that if filling a claim with the shipping Co. isnt good enof for her, tell her you will see her in a Ebay discreptcy case. Because there is a reason why we all ship insurred stuff right???

I've had this happen twice...they're usually just hoping you'll cave so they get a discount...then back off when you ask for pictures or press for s shipping claim

That said...looks like pressure was put on that during shipping.

I'm pretty sure the person that purchased the insurance has to file the claim, right? Unfortunately, that means the shipper.

That is correct, which means yeah you gotta deal with it. It was probably the shipping company that fucked it all up.

This is what you get for selling guitars to girls. ;)

Anyway, you are in no way responsible. As long as it was insurred when you shipped it, it's not your problem.

Well then how the fuck is the person receiving it supposed to file a claim when you shipper has the invoice for insurance.

This is why I do not want to sell on Ebay, what if you sell to some freaking kid that knows crap about guitars or the dude flat out does not like the guitar and thinks of some way to get out of the deal???

Screw that

I, repeat I offered to file the claim.

She does not want to. She is being unreasonable and even called me a liar in her last email.

I will just wait for the feedback and post a response. Most certainly am not going to cave.

I have well over 100 positive feedback from buyers. Hopefully one negative will not affect my rep too much.

I would file the claim anyway, that is the right thing to do no matter whether the buyer agrees or not. At least you should be able to get the damage paid for if you have to take the guitar back....

Yeah if you offered and she refused, fuck her. Send copies of those emails to ebay.

I could certainly start a claim, but she has the guitar and isn't cooperating.

I think it is just a case of buyers remorse and she was hopign to bully me into some sort of refund, which I am not going to do.

If there was even the slightest doubt in my mind, I would ask for th eguitar to be shipped back and provide a full refund, but that happened after she got it or she would be willing to go through the claim process.

Hey folks, I am locking this because I just want it to drop.

I will just deal with the feedback when it comes and move on
