ordered my Einstein

Hey All;

A week ago I thought I wouldn't be able to get an amp for a long time, but things have a way of changing, and I just ordered an Einstein.

Thanks for all of the info on this forum about the Einstein; I just got off the phone with a dealer (John at Music Unlimited in Monterey, CA.), to order mine. I was going to go with a Splawn, but I thought it might be too 80's, then I looked at a used Bogner Ecstasy, but having had one before, I was a bit reluctant as it wasn't quite what I wanted. I kept hearing about the Einstein, and researched it a bit on this forum and others, and decided to go ahead and pull the trigger. John at M.U. had a 100 watt one in stock, and it will be shipped to me on Tuesday; I can't wait.

I play anything from classic type rock to metal. Any advice on the amp out there from those in the know? I am going to be using it with a 59 historic Les Paul, 61 historic SG, Warmoth based super strat and a Modern-Vintage 4x12 cabinet (loaded with greenbacks).

You'll like it. Though I have to say I like the Eini more with P90s or SingleCoils, but haven't tried a lower gain V1 tube which might do the trick for HB loaded guitars.

Eini with greenbacks sounds to me like a tempting combination, this could actually work out fantastic, let us know how they go together!

I currently run my Einstein with an old Marshall 4x12 with greenbacks. Sounds awesome! Very sweet and smooth overdrive. I'm mostly using it with a Les Paul Deluxe and an old U.S. Reverend with P90's. With humbucking pickups it has more gain than i would ever need!

I use mine for all manner of styles, ranging from indie rock to technical metal. I too had a Bogner Ecstasy before getting the Einstein - the Einstein feels much much less compressed - and has a lot more gain on tap.

Congradulations on ordering your Einstein! You are going to love this amp.
I use an R9, CS 356, a Fender and all sound great through it.
Start with your tone controls at 12 o'clock and adjust from there.
Also, start with no effects and slowly add them after getting your sound.
I have placed a NOS Mullard in V-1, and V-2 so that I can crank up the gain in mode 2 and still retain some clarity to my tone. The amp will have so much gain that you will never use all of it anyway.

I run 2 6L6 in with the 2 EL-34s and it sounds best to me. I also have a Tung Sol reissue preamp in V-2 and it works well. I can't run the gain on channel 2 more than 1 oclock, though. Tons of gain!
I was at the Monterey store a couple of years ago trying out a Brunetti. Cool guys. Neal Schon got his Diezel from them as he was telling me to wait for one to get in stock as it would blow the Brunetti away . I actually got mine at Guitar Center in San Francisco, though..
Definitely experiment with different guitars and pups....I like my Petrucci with Dimarzios best for metal tones compared to my Les Paul with EMGs.
