VH4 Blown Main Fuse

Hey,

A while back the main fuse blew on my VH4 as soon as i turned ont he amp.

I replaced the main fuse and it worked perfectly after that and now a month later it's just done it again.

I don't have a spare fuse so I'll have to get some however does this mean my power tubes are bad? Even though the 4 LEDS on the back are not lit when the amp is on?

I've only had the VH4 for about 9-10 months now... Is this something serious or not?

If its any help... I also use a furman power conditioner to power my amp and rack effects...

Please replace the fuse with 3,15 amps slow blow.
 
Hi Peter...

Is this a different fuse than normal or just one of the usual ones?

Is there a reason for what happened or am I just unlucky? :)

This shit has happened to all of us and not only with VH4 but with all the amps that I've owned. It has nothing to do with the amp. From the day I got a Furman these things stopped.
 
Hey John...

It's weird becuase this is happening 'with' my furman.

Really strange...

I'll buy some fuses when I can get to the store.

went to the store and bought a bunch of 3,15 amp slow blows.

everything is working fine now but I have a question.

in the manual it says that in the us (110V) you should use an 8A fuse

for 220V operation you should use a 4A fuse...

I'm in the UK that ranges from 220-240 and on my furman meter the LEDs go past 240 into the yellow...

Am I still ok with 3,15A fuses or will they end up blowing again?

Seems like your voltage is too hot and you might need a voltage regulator rather than just a power conditioner. How about the Furman AR-2306?
