Here is a couple of things I wonder about.

My friend thinks that by not cutting his string ends off after he restrings a guitar, this helps with string breakage at the bridge. I personally think this is probably just BS, but what do you guys think.....

I recently had a pickup go microphonic and I wondered, can a pickup go microphonic or has it always been microphonic and I was just too tone deaf to hear.

Then there is the classic, dead batteries sound better in pedals than fresh ones. I think this really depends on the pedal.

I can't imagine how not cutting the string ends could have anything to do with breakage at the bridge. You've got the wraps around the tuners, nut and frets in between the string ends and bridge...

Eric Johnson claims the battery brand can affect tone - personally I use an adapter. ;)

I have noticed a change in tuning stability on my non-locking tuner guitars with the amount of winds, amount of string clipped and so forth....of course, madness runs in my family. Some even call me mad

And "why" you ask? Because I dare to dream of my own race of atomic monsters? Atomic supermen with octagonal-shaped bodies that suck blood through straws out your....

In That Case Tell him Find Some Spare String Ball Ends
And Next Time He Restrings His Guitar Keep The Strings He Has
Place A Ball End On Each String And Retune
Instaint New String's :)

Note the Strings No Longer Rests At the Same Place On th The
Bridge And Nut

Myth 1: A Floyd does not suck tone. It does :D

Myth 2: a black Floyd doesn't suck more tone than a chrome Floyd. It does and sucks :D

i guess it could go microphonic... all you have to do is break the wax potting, i guess if it got a sharp knock or something, that could do it...

couldn't it?

When you cut the string, you break The Force.

I can hear the difference between a 0 and a 1.

Myth #1: Just because we obsess over guitar amps doesn't mean we are neurotic or psychotic or deluded or nothing like that ;)

Myth #2: Putting a Heavy Metal pedal in front of any amp does NOT produce teh brootal distortion (of course we all know that this is true...)

Myth 3#

BOILING YOUR NEW STRINGS MAKES THEM PLAY & SOUND BETTER

Speaking of EVH,...

Myth #4

EVH'S PLEXI MARSHALLS WERE "OUT THE BOX" STOCK AND UN-MODDED, THAT's WHY THEY SOUNDED SO GOOD.

The variac works if you re-bias your tubes to the new voltage. That's were most people got it wrong.

Eddie's tech stated 140VAC though during the now famous interview, no bias job is going to help you there :D

The electric guitar's tone isn't that important...it's mostly the amp that gets the tone.
