Anyway, here are some pointers for the original poster:
-Jump right into it. Who needs to learn about electronics or running a business.
-Make the amp capable of doing six million things on each channel; after all it's easy.
-Hand build each one.
-Use Mercury transformers only (MERCUREEEEE1111!!!11!!), preferrably seven on each amp.
-Make the amps $200 each.
Seriously, if you know nothing about electronics already and haven't even considered what it takes to run a business, this is probably not a good idea at all. There always is room in a market for someone who has something different to offer in one way or another, but whether you'll consider it a worthwhile venture or not is another thing. I'm constantly tempted by job offers which would pay me a lot more than what I'm doing, and if my business weren't now doing reasonably well and showing promise of doing better (after 6 years of gradual improvement), I'd probably quit instantly. Most people wouldn't last 6 months without jumping ship to something more lucrative...like washing windows for instance.
