I have nothing to use to check it out so it looks like I'm going to have to send it to GC or something

You'll have to be a bit more specific than that. Tube, Solid-state, any funny smells, make/model?

Haha sorry. Its a 6505+ No Funny smells, If I turn the power on, the red light glows (however the tubes dont light up).

Also, when my band was looking at it, someone unplugged the speaker cable to see if it was a secure fit or what not, and the amp was still on, it only lasted for about 5 seconds, but nothing was plugged into the input at this point.

Normally theres a little bit of feedback or hiss but there was no sound coming out of my cab.

Sounds similar to what I just experienced with my JVM - was a heater fuse. Your power switch will still indicate that power is applied... Check your heater fuses....

+1

Hopefully thats the case. Are these fuses easy to spot? I've never taken apart this head yet, but my drummer is fairly good with electronics, so I'll probably just have him do it haha.

I just googled 6505 heater fuse and another story came up just like mine, so now I have my hopes up. :p

Shorted power tube caused one of the internal fuses to blow. You'll need a set of power tubes and a fuse at the very least.

Maybe I wont have to take it to GC after all.

Jerry, what type of power tubes do you recommend for the 6505+?

I like TAD 6L6WGC-STR and Tungsol 6L6GC-STR best.

Killer call on the TAD 6L6WGC-STR. I use these in my jtm45 - glassy, bell like cleans and REALLY smooth breakup -

I use white letter EIs or 12ax7EH for the little guys
