Want some more pain?
Play this pattern 13-10-12-13-12-10
Now play it without any pick strokes, play it all the way across the board from e to E string and back. No picking whatsoever. Play it with the 12th fret note used with the ring, and when your hand is about to fall of use the middle.
Send the chiropractor bill to Bob.

And now turn this around...
10-13-10-12-13-12 still no picking at all, not even the first note.
Send this doctor's bill to Ralphie... :)

Bring it

Hope Bob and Ralphie's med plans are up to date.

Huh, not sure I understand what you mean? The 7th mode of Bb Mel min is A Super Locrian what I'd expect to hear across a 7#5. The first mode would be A melodic minor, which really wouldn't work for my ears because of the major 7 in it.
FWIW if I hear A7b9 that's an immediate A phrygian dom sound to me, as in D harmonic minor.

I guess it would be easier if u hear my tune and I can point out what i mean, i may not be saying it correctly...section 1:55-2:02 is a Bb melodic Minor Arpreggio starting on the root ( 13th fret, A string) over A7#5 and the 2:50-2:57 section is the lick i used as the first example ( Super Locian) starting on the minor 3rd of Bb ( C# ) over A7b9. I just use my ears as the vehicle... however it translates in theoretical terms, I'll leave that for u to tell me since I'm not as savvy in that dept. ;)

I welcome the feedback too by the way.

I find it far simpler to meander around the fingerboard looking for a good note or two rather than spending all the time learning this stuff. All these pound signs and numbers make my head spin.

+1

sounds like a tasty foray into neo-classical land...nice vibrato, a few arps, a little speed picking (not too self indulgent) I like it. The only criticism I would have would be subjective...I prefer the guitar a little lower in the mix and maybe a tad less echo volume. I should know, I use echo in the same way and tend to over indulge in the warm blanket of trailing notes...I like your taste and style

Nice playing...yup both are 7th mode of mel. minor. As in Bb melodic minor used over an A7alt...i.e. Super Locrian.

thanks guys...yes u r right about the delay stuff, i usually don't use that much, but I wanted to make some notes soar a little more, but I am going to remix the entire tune when i get around to it. I can totally hear what u r saying. It's such a pain in the ass to do the engineering stuff.....my ears become fatique after a while.

in that case...yup.

Wouldn't it be easier to say alt pick it out first if you were a better picker to get the memory retention going and then proceed to tearing tendons?

thanks Ed...The melodic minor/whole tone territory is still a little new to me. I wish I can hear those things in my head ALL the time..especially when i listen to guys like Scott Henderson who I think is one of the most scariest guitarist on the planet!!
