I think the mkiv fits you well, that's a nice clip.

It does fit me so far. The amp is much more tight than I thought it would be (coming from a VHT CLX and Engl SE).

That sounds great dude! The vocals in that song are hilariously bad though. It would sound far better without them.

Thanks Mark! I knew you would say that about the vocals! :P

I think that Bogner cab with V30's is a big reason as to why the clip sounds so good too. It's hard to beat V30's for recording metal stuff, and Bogner makes a damn good cabinet.

Sounds great man! I love my mark IV and I still smile when I play it.

Haha wow, that sounds great dude. Sounds really close to JP's tone on the song.

I can pretty much imagine the EQ curve you used.

Thanks RH! The EQ may be a little different than you think. I will post settings tonight.

You still enjoying yours?

I'm still loving my IV man, big time. It constantly leaves me thinking "Is there more?" as Lord Toneking put it, but I think it's a wonderful amp, which sounds just so killer to my ears, every single time I play it. Having said that, I haven't touched the EQ for about a week now - I'm loving how it's dialled in at the minute. It's going nowhere :)

I feel the same way about people saying the amp was really complicated. I expected to be there for weeks before finding even a useable tone, but it didn't take me longer than 20 mins to find something fuckin' killer.

By the way, post a picture of your settings if you can, easier than explaining the EQ, etc.

gibson5413,
posting a snipped of dream theater's constant motion doesn't count as posting a clip of your own! ;)

JK mang, schweet tone it's so close it's not even funny!

Sounds great!

I bet after you get to know the amp better, you will be pulling some downright killer tones out of it

I agree. There's a ton in there (I can tell).

I will say that this cab sounds huge! It's hard to explain but this cab, so far, beats everything I own. I actually loved my G-Flex and kind of missed it after I sold it. I had the speakers really worked in. I actually preferred the way my CLX sounded through it compared to the VHT 2x12. I actually really like the Fat Bottom cab but sounds a bit stiff to me.

The Bogner cab actually sounds bigger than the G-Flex. The V30s are a great match for the Mark IV.

I will post a picture tomorrow. Today has been a horrendously long day at work. When I get home I am puring myself in to bed.

Thanks!

I wasn't even necessarily going for an identical tone. I just turned the knobs until I heard what I liked!
