Past and Present owners...please describe the tonal qualities, compare to other cabinets and please tell me why you sold/replaced it and what replaced it...all the info you got, send it here.

It would be to run a Cobra/Herbert and eventually maybe a Mako and Cameron...

it will do better than your cobra cab, but i still dont think it's the optimal cab for what you need.

I had a oversized for about 2 years and it was a decent cab but I sold it for a uberkab which I liked a lot better, for the amps you talked about I think a bogner ot mesa traditional cab would sound best, the oversized isn't as tight and doesn't hold the lowend as well.

yea, I know....hence this post ;) thanks for lookin out though!

I liked mine quite a lot when I had it. Then again, my tonal tastes are WAY different now than they were three years ago. I got a fantastic deal on mine, $450 + 50 to ship. The seller was pissed that he advertised $50 shipping for a Mesa cab... I'm sure you can guess why :D

It could be a flubby cab for sure if you didn't dial in your amp right, but other than that I thought it was great. I ran it with a Rivera M100 head for a while, as well as a Marshall DSL401. A friend of mine plugged his TSL100 into it and it sounded OUTRAGEOUS. And I usually hate that amp.

I ended up trading it and the M100 in for a Genz Benz El Diablo head and GFlex cab when they first came out (I wanted something a bit more portable). I don't really regret my decision, but there are times when I gas for a 4x12...

that's a damn good deal. his strat is a good deal too. i'd like to have both.

he's a good guy and gave me a ridiculous deal on a dd-6

I had a traditional and oversized mesa cab at the same time and while it wasn't a night and day difference, the traditional cab was noticably tighter. The oversized had the bigger sound though, so it's a matter of what you want. The difference between the two is more noticable as you increase the volume, so if a tight lowend is important to you and you plan on playing live or cranked I'd pass on the oversized cab.

I played in a metal band when I had both and preferred the tightness of the traditional, cause I felt the oversized cab got a bit too boomy and sloppy when playing cranked.

Right now I have a Diezel Rear loaded 4X12 and prefer it to the others. IMO it's tighter than the oversized mesa, but bigger sounding than the traditional.

Hope that helps.

i bet a metal front mark cab with the 90's and ev12's would kill with a herbert. of course I think that's the best cab ever so I'm a little biased.

I think I might just order 2 Unloaded Splawn cabs. Then decide on which speakers to load 'em with.

After playing through many cabs, I now have 2 Rectifier oversized. They are the shit. Heavy, tight, no rattles. You definately need to dial your amps differently for them. They produce so much bottom end, that on my Marshall's, my bass is at 11:00, my Recto's Channel 2 & 3 bass is at 10:00 and 11:00, and my Herbert's bass is at 11:30. Deep is at 1:00 though. If you dial them like you do normal cabs, they'll be too bassy. Mine sound super tight. Most people that slag them, never took the time to EQ.
