Well...I find Frank Gambale's work quite cool. Don't know if he's been mentioned by anybody.

Ben's great. I took lessons from him in '95. I liked his style more when he was heavily into Steve Morse. He's a super nice guy.

glad you guys mentioned Ben. I knew him 10+ years ago. He used to (and still may) give lessons at Willcutt guitars in KY. He used to be a freaky metal shredder but is a well-rounded musician. He's a very humble guy and I wish him nothing but the best

check him out!!!

I'm looking for something new and interesting to listen to so I thought I'd post to see what's happening on the "NEW" front. Besides the "BIG" and obvious names like:

Satriani
Vai
Holdsworth
Henderson
Timmons
Morse
Beck
Gilbert
Petrucci (sp)
Balducci (sp)

What's NEW to listen to?

Guthrie Govan

I don't think Ben is giving lessons at Willcutt any more. I was taking lessons when he was in the "freaky metal" phase. He would take Steve Morse or Chet Atkins style lines and work them into a Pantera type groove. His legato is/was amazing.

I know he's still in the Lexington area, as I've seen ads for him playing at some of the local bars and restraunts.
