I love those...with pedals they are really nice. I regret not holding on to mine many years ago.

I traded mine straight up for a '71 Superlead (with an older 1960TV greenback cab) great deal for me actually.
But I began regretting it after a while...I really dig the AC30 voicing.

Now I'm getting gas for one again. :D
 
BTW: They can do a lot more than just chimey cleans, listen to the Stone Temple Pilots old stuff (especially live stuff)...with pedals it gets a great lush old Marshall type tone as well.

Im not sure if thats the best example considering the VHT and Demeter preamp mixed in with it! :D

AC30's are the bomb but Im not sure if it would actually fit your style Scott. Meaning, I could see you fighting with it and not being totally satisfied.

Then again maybe it would teh sex on a stick. :D

The first CD was all Demeter I think...but after that I think it was mostly AC30 with pedals, he may be using the Demeter with it as well still....great tones though. :worship:

Though I have no doubt Dean DeLeo used AC30s, there is no way that its all he used, and he's said in interviews quite clearly that he's used the same demeter/VHT rig he has since the beginning. He definitely used Vox's as well when I saw them live on the 4 tour though. Incredible live guitar sound, actually :thumbsup:

I'd love to get an AC30 though. I was trying my 335 through a vintage white one with a red snapper OD when I bought it. That was a KILLER lead tone, OMG.

Such chimey organic 3D type cleans and they are a great canvas to add gain too (pedals or rack preamp) nice full mids. :thumbsup:

If you added an AC30 to the stable...for the times you don't feel like being metal you will love it....when you want to play maj7 and add11 chords. ;)
