hi guys

my friend has won a auction for two Barenuckle pickups.

they are both the same model (warpig or nailbomb) not sure of the model though.

is the neck and bridge different? can you even get a neck pup for them in the "model" seris like a warpig, nailbomb etc?

i wanna buy one off him

cheers

They do make calibrated sets of both the warpig and nailbomb.

Im not 100% sure but you could check them with a Multimeter to find out though!

what would a bridge pup give me on a multi meter as opposed to a neck pup?

Cheers

They do offer calibrated sets, so yes, there is a difference. Calibrated means if the same model, the neck pup will be very slightly reduced in the output.

Well i would think the bridge pickup would have a higher DC resistance than the Neck pickup would. So if you measure them on the multimeter, check and see if one humbucker has a higher or lower DC resistance than the other!

ah ha.

wonder what it would sound like in the bridge position.......... :dunno:

Unless you specify with Tim beforehand, if you buy a "set" the neck will be calibrated.

I've bought a Nailbomb set and a Rebel Yell set and the neck pickups were both in the 8k range, definitely not the same pickup as the bridge that came with it AT ALL!

That said, you could of course order two spec'd exactly the same, but if the set is indeed calibrated they will definitely be different.

What are they going in? Type of bridge if in bridge position?

Are you upset or happy they will be a set? :D

Unless you want a high gain bridge pickup in the neck I'd hope they are a set....which they probably are.

He calibrates them to sound good with each other

If I'm reading this correctly, I believe the OP was going to buy one off his buddy. It appears that they both want a hot bridge position. Many of my assumptions are way off, however.

What I'm thinking is if it was a neck and he puts it in the bridge position, and he has a Floyd, then the pole spacing will be wrong and it will be weak on both E strings mostly.
