Got Cornford ???

A few weeks into it I've got say the Cornford MK50 is killer...as equally killer as the other killer amps I've blown through lately

I did a tube swap tonight, changed out from 5881's to JJ 6L6's and the amp just came even more alive, better clarity, better crunch and tone all the way around.

The build quality is off the scale. The chassis actually has a matching plate thats bolted to it covering the guts, with welded in bushings / grommets for the set screws to mount it in the headshell. No cheap ass ring clips or punched chassis and no worries sliding it in and out as the unit is self contained.

I had a question about the amp, emailed Cornford and had pdf manual sent and an immediate response from Martin Kidd (designer, co-founder of company) He provided detailed instructions on how to convert it to EL34's and asked that I have whoever does the work to please call him with any and all questions.

I think they voiced this amp for V30's but so far it sounds insane through the Marshall 425 VM cab.

All in all I'm super impressed with this amp. It may actually be here for longer than a month :D I'm on a mission to try out next to everything I can and selling them is the only way to keep buying them.

I've finally figured out the recording unit I picked up - If I can talk the family out of the house a while over the weekend I'll record up clip or two of it.

FWIW - no bigger endorsement needed than Mark Cameron's comment to me, J.B. and Krueger that if he didn't have his own amps, he would be playing Cornfords. Nuff said.

Amp has been here longer than a month....KICKS ASS

Cornford emailed the directions to change it out to EL34's, may do that as it's a reversable thing...

Played a Carrera one day and LOVED it... just not the almost $2K pricetag for an 8 watt amp :(

I love the lead tones of Cornfords but I never hear anyone riffing with them. I saw a couple of reviews where guys were bagging on them as a one trick wonder-great for leads but that's about it. What do you Cornford owners think? Definitely would love to demo one.

Not even close. Mine crushes in the "riffing " dept or whatever you want to call it. Feel free to ask Jason Wallis what he thought of it in that realm.
