Band, not guitarist or guitarist who is a solo act with a backing band.

Beatles, for me...

Im a YOU-MUNG-GUS KingsX fan...

One of the best ever. Never got too big. Small club band. Lots of Beatles influence in their music. Harmonies especially...

This may sound sick, with all the bands Ive seen, but I never saw Maidon--and am not even familiar with their music at all...

I said NOT a guitarist with a backing band. SATCH is not a band...
 
It was between Dream Theater, Megadeth, and Stratovarius for me. I guess I'd have to choose Dream Theater. If we could include solo artists like Malmsteen, Becker, Friedman, etc., it would be different.
 
I'd have to pick Metallica for this role.. although currently I've got Lamb of God in a more consistent rotation.
 
Mike_V, we must come from about the same time, because it's The Beatles for me as well. Not because they were all virtiroso players, (although they were good enough,) or because they were the greatest song writers ever, (although their later stuff was certainly pushing the envelope for the time,) but, qute simply, because they changed the World.
