Sounds great here. Played it and it was not my cup of tea. This video will sell some amps, though. That delay helps smooth it out nicely.

That sounds awesome! That dude is really good at the EVH style too. Cool Les Paul as well.

Yea , I am really impressed at the VH tone he's getting. I played with a Les Paul with the Burstbuckers and it sure as hell did not sound like that.
He's got some of Ed's techniques down real good.
I want to know what delay he's using. That effex loop seems to be great.

That's pretty impressive sounding. I've seem that guy do demos before, but I've never seen him tear it up like that before. Cool sounding tones for sure.

Dude...Paul can make a piece of shit Holmes amp sound good though. He is a fuckin dork...but a damn fine player. Plus....That axe helps with the tone. Nice LP.

I still think the clean sounds like shit.

He's a douchebag......him and the guy who does the reviews on the guitar one discs.....

Show me how the amp works.....not how YOU set it up. show me more than that,.....geez.

pretty cool clip. good player, but his reviews annoy me.

Damn! After just getting my JVM and a 1960a cab a few months ago this sumbitch comes out! Sounds incredible! Ain't gonna ditch the JVM but I somehow HAVE to justify to the wife how it is I need a second half stack.

1. Cool tones from that amp. More authentic old-school VH tones than previous 5150s.

2. He's a better player than I thought.

3. I will always think of Michael J. Fox when I see this nerd's reviews.

Sounds great but the price tag is too high right now. I can get some of those sounds out of my JVM too.

Yeah, I agree. I have an Axis too and with the JVM on 0D1 orange you can get so close to the VH tone it's scary. I'm a huge EVH fan all the way back from their early days and this 5150 III does really nail the tone. I'm looking at it objectively and tonewise and not hype, especially since there isn't a whole lot of chatter about it right now anyways. I'll have to hear it in person to really be sold on it though. I'm gonna have to figure out just where the amp might fit in to the rest of the cover stuff we're doing though.

The JVM is close but there is just this raw, mid, fire-red-hot, sound coming from that 5150. Well, can't wait to try one out.

Sounds good, kind of wish where was an overall Master Volume for all 3 channels but no big deal.

I'm going to wait for the first wave of early adopters and hype to die down some and then see if I can pick one up :)

I'm wondering how much those superduper special EVH speakers are doing for that tone.

His test of the loop was funny, put in a patch chord and only a patch chord and then switch the loop on/off, then you'll have an accurate ID about the loop's tone.

I think the speakers and cab have a HUGE affect in that tone, so if people really dig that sound, I would suggest that they get the cab along with the head.

I personally would have liked to see some more knob twiddling on the demo to see what the amp is capable of doing, but I guess a quick run to Sams ass music will let me see for myself.

Am I the only one that thought that the clean was terrible? Sounds good and still want to know who the designer was.

Thats what I meant about knob twiddling. The guy had the clean sound setup like ass. As far as who designed the amp, it was a guy from fender. His name escapes me at the moment but its all in the new Guitar world that I picked up yesterday.

Yea, Guitar Center is HIGHLY recommending getting the cab along with the amp. I want to hear it with different cabs, though.

The clean channel- I don't consider it a clean channel at all when you have the 'gain' at 9 oclock and it's still breaking up and have to roll off the guitar volume to get cleaned up. That was definitely the lowest rated channel for me.
