The flip side of that is that you are encouraging manufacturers to build as cheaply as possible as long as it's reliable.

You are sending a signal to the industry that you don't give a shit about build quality, only reliability but you will be charged higher prices anyway.
That is very true.

I love the price that I paid for my JVM but yes I do wish that it was built better.

I believe that by looking at The Jeff's sig that he would have bought that amp if it was made of balsa wood though :D

I feel the quality should reflect the price, or rather vice-versa. In the case of this amp, to keep costs down they used cheaper labor. Fender has been doing this a lot lately, and I have nothing to complain about thus far. Again, it's easier on my wallet.

I'm a fan of EVH's tone just as much as I'm a fan of his music. I stumbled upon a Wolfgang first...it was the best feeling sounding guitar I'd ever played. It only felt right to plug it into the amp it was designed to be plugged into--failsafe, ya know? ;)

Honestly, I've gone through many amps and for what I play, these suit me best.

I see no Plexi or SLO in the sig :P :D

DAmn, I cant hear these at work...

Ive been DYING to play this amp and id love to be able to A/B it with the JVM for a few hours...

Hey Jeff thanks for your clips they sound great. Could you do one with the crunch channel again but without the boost?

Clips aren't bad, but I agree you need to turn the mids up. Dunno what you're talking about when you say the sweet spot is 2. You should post a clean clip so people can tell what that channel sounds like.

Hmmm. For some reason your clips don't really sound *tonewise* either like the Namm demo http://youtube.com/watch?v=sIr-WBZT1MI Eddie is doing here or what Michael J Fox is doing on the Guitar World demo http://youtube.com/watch?v=7azTFAHyKOg. No offense by any means though. Maybe it's a mic issue.

Point is I guess that if this amp is really sounding like it does in the two clips above than I want the sonofabeeotch! Bad ass IMO.

Funny how Eddie says "it's just a prototype" at NAMM. He he, there was probably a whole slew of em being made as he spoke. :D

That's because he didn;t using the matching Cab. 50% of the Michael J. fox clip and EVH tone is comming from the speakers.

From the accounts of people that played it, there's some unique tone in the frankenstein $25k relic too. So that guitar might be making a big diff too, in the namm vid. Although I don't intend to ever find out!

This is the sweet spot on these amps...mids 2-3. I'd run them at 3 if I wasn't already playing through v30's, which is a mid boost in itself. Trust me, even Eddie runs them this way, and he helped design them.

Check out the Youtube video of Michael he has the mids at around 6 across the board.

One thing that worries me about the proprietary speakers is replacing them if you blow a speaker.

Will Fender sell you one if you provide proof of purchase that you bought the cab and aren't trying to just buy them to load in your own

I'd love to try one someday though :)

Tom.........................over 70% of this place can't go over 1 on the master anyways

Good question though, how did EB deal with that stuff with their pups??

EB would generally want the broken part sent to them, I think. Maybe this would be the same?

Motha Trucka Shea is the only guy metal enough that would blow that cab around these parts

I guess what Ratter said makes sense, you would have to ship the blown one out but what would the turn-around time be? I guess you could throw one greenback in there to hold yourself over

A lot of companies will do advanced exchange. You give them a serial number, they ship the part out immediately. If you don't send the broken part back to them within a certain timeframe after that, you get charged out the ass. :D
