ratter":28daf said:Hmm dunno...that might be it. But it sounds by your description like there's enough flexibility in the pedal to twist it any number of ways. I went so far as to order a chrome BB from pedalgeek.com last night but I got all the way through the end of the process and their website isn't working!

Here's how I see it:
The OD808 is an overdrive pedal. It tightens things up and is more gritty and 'metal'. The BB is more of a boost and it doesn't tighten anything up as far as I can tell. It's very transparent and the amp sounds like the amp beefed up. I'll record the same track with the OD808 set up the way I had it in a little bit. I can't describe the differences too well... They're very different. At first I was thinking of ditching the OD808 but after listening to them back-to-back it may be worth keeping. It's so different from the BB and both are very cool.

Sounds like a good idea to me. It's not like you're running a ton of fx...two od's sure won't hurt anything. I'll try to do an LSS/OCD clip on this track...

Listening again though to yours and the original. I don't think it's too smooth. I think it's in a good spot. It doesn't have the same top end presence as the original. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.
