Damn Vlad that is pretty darn smooth sounding :) No coloring of the plexi either, very nice pedal.

Thanks man! I'm digging this thing... It's also very touch-sensitive which isn't too common in pedals.. :D

Sounds great. I think I like your Maxon tone a little more though. I like it though.

Sounds awesome, but I don't know whether or not I prefer it to the 808....can you post the backing track? That was pretty cool...

Not gritty enough?

Hmm dunno...that might be it. But it sounds by your description like there's enough flexibility in the pedal to twist it any number of ways. I went so far as to order a chrome BB from pedalgeek.com last night but I got all the way through the end of the process and their website isn't working!

Here's how I see it:
The OD808 is an overdrive pedal. It tightens things up and is more gritty and 'metal'. The BB is more of a boost and it doesn't tighten anything up as far as I can tell. It's very transparent and the amp sounds like the amp beefed up. I'll record the same track with the OD808 set up the way I had it in a little bit. I can't describe the differences too well... They're very different. At first I was thinking of ditching the OD808 but after listening to them back-to-back it may be worth keeping. It's so different from the BB and both are very cool.

Sounds like a good idea to me. It's not like you're running a ton of fx...two od's sure won't hurt anything. I'll try to do an LSS/OCD clip on this track...

Just dawned on me that the guitar I used on this track is always too smooth... the Axis should be back on Tuesday. I may have to re-record the clip when it's back.

I'd like to hear the OCD. People rave about that pedal.

Bleh...my clip sucked ass...need more time...

Listening again though to yours and the original. I don't think it's too smooth. I think it's in a good spot. It doesn't have the same top end presence as the original. But that's not necessarily a bad thing.

No... I was playing the OD808 a little while ago. It's more snarly... and actually sounds more like Andy Timmons. But I think the BB sounded really really good for this clip. I think I'll keep the OD808 at least for now.

I gravitate towards the grit the TS pedals add. I like this tone though.

That's a very nice sound. I'm certain if you played with a bit more "snap" it'd be up more people's alleys here. :) I don't think it needs much change, personally.

I thought it sounded great, very smooth.
Great playing as well.

I think I'm gonna end up using both for different things. They both sound really good.

Thanks James. It may not have the teeth that some folks like, but I dig it and I think it fits the clip.
