Since you’re a real engineer why do you need to copy Mark’s work and sell? I would figure a real engineer would create his own designs? At one point you were bragging that you make better sounding amps than Mark, yet here you are bragging you stole Mark’s designs?.

Mark doesn't cut n paste...so whatever circuit anyone copies will NOT quite get there in the end. No two Cam Jose Marshalls are exactly alike, neither are 2 Aldrich Marshalls. He tweaks each circuit individually until he gets what he wants out of it. That's why the Brad era gear isn't quite there compared to the pre Brad gear.
That's why Blades are 'almost a Cameron' as are anyone else's clones.....if you don't have Mark Cs ear it won't be the same.

I get that. I also get that if it's not a "Mark C." amp, it is perceived as being less valuable. The truth is that there is a plethora of amps that are readily available that sound fantastic, at similar prices, with less risk. I love almost all of the amps I've heard that Mark has modded. He clearly has an ear, and skills. They sound fantastic. I'd love to own one. But, I can get (and have) a Friedman that has a similar vibe. It wasn't necessarily cheaper, but I could get it thorough a reputable dealer and didn't have to wait 9 months. If there are issues, I have a manner of recourse. Dave actually responds on the forum. That doesn't dissuade me from a Cameron modded Marshall, but it does lower that option on the pecking order... Just my .02...

Does Mark have "signature" things he does to circuits? Yes. Can you build an amp that will have approximate signature tones? Yes. Lots of great options out there..Dave's amps are great and he has fantastic customer service. I've had one Friedman BE modded Marshall and an early PTP BE 100 that Dave modded later to be more open sounding, less compressed. Killer stuff.
But, what sets the Cameron stuff apart IMO is the feel...no other modded Marshall has that from my experience. Wizards also have a unique feel, and the most unique feel of any amp that I've owned is the 2C+...like your fingers are attached to the strings...Psychodave called it a "bouncy" feel and that's a good way to put it.

Bottom line as I stated before. Market dictates value, not accuracy, degrees, or patents. They are irrelevant not only to this conversation, but amp building in general. Your degree or patents mean nothing. You didn't study modern high gain tube amp designing college. As we know, modern high gain amp design push the design specs and original design theory

When Mark was helping me with my JCA 20, I though I'd use his standard values... and it didn't sound like a Cameron amp at all. Then Mark helped me with lots of different things to get it that signature tone. The shocking part is specific brands/types of parts have as much to do with sound as their stated values. People think Mark uses a hodgepodge of parts, when he's actually using what he knows the parts sound like to make the amp have that signature sound. It's more art than science.
