Yup. GB's & V30's were an option. I have a late 90's boa 2x12 closed back that still has its original V30's in it (~30 yrs of break-in; sounds GREAT).

No, I knew it had some figuring. If you aim a flashlight at the guitar top with a steep angle and catch the reflection at the end of the guitar body with a white sheet of paper, the grain shows up.
