A lifelong music journalist and lover of guitar music, I was an editor for Guitar Player magazine from 1978-1998. Since then I have written books about Jimi Hendrix, prewar blues guitarists, postwar blues guitarists, and a collection of interviews called Talking Guitar: Conversations With Musicians Who Shaped 20th Century American Music. Besides my YouTube channel Talking Guitar: Jas Obrecht's Music Magazine I also have an online magazine called Talking Guitar, which features dozens of interview transcriptions and audio from my 45 years of writing about guitarists and their music. I figured there are a lot of kindred spirits in this forum!
