More New BACH

Not my style of music, but it kicks the shit out of that new Crue song lol

Good for Bach, sounds like he actually cares enough to write material that doesnt suck dick - which is more than I can say for Crue or a bunch of other aged buttrocker bands that are popular on RT

The solo isn't really my taste either, but im glad its there, and it fits the music better than whatever the fuck John 5 was doing
I actually think that is John5 in parts of it. Apparently he cut a few leads and it has his spazzy alternate picking before the other guy comes back in with good sounding sweeps.

Listening to Don D Makes me sad the same way i feel about JBJ.... It made me sad when i went to the last Bon Jovi show in Ft. Lauderdale & he sounded like someone killing a cat.

I recently saw Don D at a venue near me. The band was great. But Don sounded pitiful. It was truly sad. I saw Dokken during their club days back in the 80's. The years have been hard on him...

Doesn't touch Skid Row in their prime but it's better than what Skid Row is doing now.
I actually thought it had that Skid Row sound but not going to beat Skid Row in their prime. They need to work out their differences and get back together.

I’m seeing Bach Saturday night at a local casino. The new cd is really good. Hopefully the set list includes a few songs from it.

s.b. still seems to have enough voice left so that’s cool. the amazing one is michael sweet. hasn’t seemed to have lost anything.

with the recent dokken/neil/bon jovi vids i get a sick feeling like they are totally abusing their fans as they have outright destroyed their voices.

for the final vh days with roth you could forgive dlr cause he was always a scat/sing guy and the songs were fire, but without the VH brothers it made no sense and he took so many liberties with the timing of the words and melodies it became a parody of the song.

this one also has that “call it a day” factor for DC but was the classiest of the bunch and the audience really saved the day:

I Don't get why we ever compare any of these guys to their prime. 20 and hungry vs 60, burned out, and comfortable? It will never be close. Just enjoy it for what it is.. if it is shit, we call it out. If it's good ( for what it is), it doesn't need to live up to the albums we all love. Nobody is writing material as good as they did when they were young and fresh. Nobody.

I'm listening to a few of the other tunes off the album and I think they are pretty good for the genre. He's got some personality. I will say however that modern production is what is bringing a lot of these tunes down. Shit sounds all the same. We need to get away from these over sampled drums and all the bass. Fatigue on the ears. I want real albums that sound slightly different from one another. A big part of those early Skid Row albums was the sound. Those guitars. The way everything sat together. I can't stand the sound of all these snares. Slate is constantly patting himself on the back for bringing the " industry standard" for samples to the table but it has ruined rock music imo. They used to sample in the 80's and 90's to an extent but it sounded different session to session in that they were sampling their own setup run through a ton of gear. Not the same sample processed and then processed again.

That's my rant, I hate modern drums. Good reminder for myself, record my own kit and use samples sparingly to reinforce vs replace a snare or kick. I have found even in a crap basement, running my drums of 57's and simple Audient Pre's into a bit of comp and some eq from my board makes them sound better than an SD3 over processed sample.

I thought thats what I said.

Maybe but i didnt get that impression...I thought it was a comparison to the old. Either way, doesn't matter, we are all just shooting the shit.
I think the new track sounds good. I would really love to hear what he could do if he ever got back with Scotti and Snake. They just had that chemistry. Not seeing that happening though.

I heard someone call in to Eddie Trunk recently and asked what the chances of Baz going back to the Skid guys. He said he knows all of them very well and say it was a 50/50 chance.

I feel like the ship has sailed on that. Time to do it would have probably been 5-10 years ago. Now i understand depression is not a good thing but that Erik dude who was singing for Skid Row was big time cringe. I had a hard time watching him and I don't think it is the worse thing in the world that he is out of the band. They should just get a new singer and call themselves something else. They had the new guy sing like Bach..that tells you how much his voice is part of that sig sound and that band name.

Skid Row had 4 shows booked and their singer had to leave because he's recovering from cancer, so Lzzy Hale is singing those shows with them.
I'd pay good money to hear that lineup. That woman is a force of nature!

It is a shame when the voice goes but I would rather have deterioration of the vocals than nothing at all. Especially if it is a cooking band.
