Hey everyone! Something huge was released recently, and my God it is going to be truly epic. Flemming Rasmussen, the producer who worked on Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and ...And Justice for All is releasing an online Masterclass, where he will share all his knowledge and secrets, basically it's a backstage pass into the Metallica recording sessions from the 80's.

And what's crazy is that the masterclass comes with an Impulse Response Pack for guitar and bass too!

If somebody pre-orders now, he can get access to a live webinar with the man himself and also get 20% off.

I'll definitively see you there!🤘

Grifter of Puppets

lol

However, he actually does have all the notes and stuff back from those sessions so at least he's not just lying about it.

Also I have to say, I like what Flemming is doing if for no other reason than the fact that James has been such a catty bitch about guarding how he gets his tone for so long.

The weird part is he detailed a lot of this stuff 20 years ago for free on the old gearslutz forums. So unless he has volumes of newly discovered material regarding what he did 40 years ago at those sessions, I can't help but think he's just repackaging what he already put out for a hefty fee this time. I hate saying it too as I truly love the results he got and his hardnosed approach in the studio towards the musicians (Kirk Hammett is on record as saying it was much more stressful working under FR than Bob Rock).

Let me sum it up in a nutshell: vibe, sick playing, sick songs, and sick arrangement. The end. Metallica was pissed, and it came out in their hands. This is such a money grab for people that don’t know any better. There is no tricks, there are no secrets. The secret is, and always will be, in the source tones/playing/arrangement.

Yeah, he posted details and some of his notes, but that's only a fraction of the whole picture. Plus the IR Pack seems really intriguing. I am also interested in the drums and the bass sound, cause Cliff had an absolutely unique tone and technique.

And we can't ignore the mix. Mixing sounds like what Metallica has is no straightforward task.

i hope he gets super deep and nerds out on every stupid little detail that he remembers.
however, i'm worried it'll be all the info we already know, mixed with some slick editing and visuals. close ups and shadowy lighting on those rack parametric eq's and some really sexy shots of those crunch berries amps, pornographic like displaying of some expensive vintage mics, and some random "look a-like" marshall cabs.... you get the picture.

Sad but true.

This.

I’ll piggyback what others have said and pretty much the bulk of the “secrets” is already disclosed and out there if you look for it. No need to pay for it unless you want those IRs.

Not only that, I’ve seen plenty of vids on YT with guys who get super close, if not, pretty much nail those album tones with the basic gear recipe needed. Justice is the easiest tone to achieve. Puppets you need to work a little harder.

Based on what I've seen so far, I believe he'll get super deep.

So is Wagner involved?

You mean …”VH1 Behind the Music, Metallica Sessions” 😂

True. I have seen all the notes. He has many more than what’s posted online.

None of this is a mystery anymore. But he's selling it to amateurs and hard-core cork sniffers alike. He's going to unlock everyone's ability to sound like James hetfield in a studio.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
There is nothing without a sales pitch now.
I remember when music had more to offer.

This is dumb..
Another trendy online bullshit. "Tone gods" collaborating for another stale tone money grab.

The kool-aid may be over priced but by God are they drinking more than ever before!!!
