This is interesting, I like the brighter voicing of the J.E.L. circuit over traditional Friedman amps. The 20 watt wasn’t what I was looking for but a 50 sounds great.

Watts + balz.. Maybe it was the headroom you were missing??
 
BTW, my Balz are always full..And they're dirty big Balz..
They're always bouncing to the left and to the right..
 
Found it...it’s stupid fucking red again....I had the Jel 20 for a few months as a backup to my Wizard. Developed a fucked up tube socket issue in the Wizard and had to switch out to the JEL 20 mid gig / mid song and that amp sucked comparatively to my MC25. Gone before sunset the next day. The 50 in a black head shell has my attention though, but not if it’s a $350 upgrade like the JEL20


 
built my own 50 watt JEL ...... running 6550's ......

JCM800's aren't that hard to turn into the JEL
