Three of my guitars got new pups over the weekend.

Flying V went from original T-Tops to a Dinarzio PAF 57 neck and Brandonwound Buford T in bridge (original Dirty Finger clone). Great success! What a V should sound like.

R9 went from Duncan Custom Shop Whole Lotta set to Manlius Fat Diane set. Even greater success! These pups need more recognition. Probably the clearest and most balanced PAF types under gain that I’ve ever heard. And I’ve had several “real” PAF’s and high dollar clones in this one. The Fat Diane’s are never coming out.

Superstrat went from original Duncan JBJ to Gibson/Kramer Eruption. Not thrilled. Don’t like the JBJ either. This guitar has had tons of pups ran through it. I’ll keep trying.

Ah pickup swapping! A mix of supreme joy and sometimes utter frustration! Glad you had more "successes" than "keep trying!" :)

I had the Manlius Landmarks in my Les Paul for a while and originally considered the Fat Diane set. Landmarks were a great sounding set, not too dissimilar from the Fralin Pure PAF honestly, but had to remove them because they squealed like a stuck pig despite being potted.

I am smitten with the Whole Lotta Humbucker in the bridge of a 25.5 scale strat or super-strat. Not sure if it has enough oomph for a locking trem - but with a traditional 6-screw trem, it is just glorious. Remarkably clean with a twist of the guitar’s volume knob. Wide open under gain, plenty of punch but still allows the guitar and the amp do their thing.

I had them in the R9 for about 2 years. I liked them, but the highs started to grate on me lately. They don’t have much warmth. Honestly, the stock Custombuckers are the shiz, but the bridge one died on me.

I had a Manlius Hot Rod 59 that was great. Underrated pickups.
