Damn didnt realize it was 100 more.. thats whacked considering Vai's module is colored and the usual price... But it does look so much better in purple

I actually like the all black look of synergy. The custom modded modules of MTS went a bit crazy at some point with colors. And the chrome of the stockers looked nice at first but got dirty really fast.

When I saw the purple edition, it reminded me of the mods for MTS system. Which were like 90s Batman aesthetic realized on a preamp module. Ehhh, no thanks.

Not saying whether the upcharge is justified, but the front panel looks a bit different on the Vai and standard SLO module compared to the purple SLO. Texturing, and coverage of color on the back side. Maybe they did something different with the face plate that resulted in a significant price difference? I remember a recent(?) Malcontents episode where Steve went into why Fryette doesn't do fancy chrome faceplates or stuff like the purple 2150 (I think?) anymore, and it was 'cause it is ludicrously expensive now on top of being hard to find suppliers. So boring standard looks are the, well, standard.

For what it's worth, if you want the original SLO module, people are offloading them in droves right now, could probably get a good deal on one.
