Okay some of you have seen my amp review for the Spark Go, I have to be honest, when I first got ahold of the amp, I thought it was going to suck and til this day it's actually quite an impressive tool that can do alot for such a tiny FR digital smart amp. So I'll probably get ahold of one of these one way or another since I enjoy the Spark Go but would appreciate the extra wattage:

Pretty damn cool! :)

I don't really care for my spark 40 as a guitar amp. It's definitely become useful for my synths, classical instruments, and an alternate way to record. It can put out some okay tones, but quickly realize how sterile and lifeless it is. It helped to plug the bass port on it, but the speakers are still meh. I saw they put out a cab for it, which is almost too funny.

I felt similar about the Spark 40. Sold mine and just got tracking info for the new Spark 2, should be here in a few days. Hoping the improvements make it a decent all-around option for practice and noodling.

the new Pignose replacement for 2024 :D
I'm gonna order one even if it's for the looks, I like the Steampunk aesthetic, will fit right in with the awesome fun guest room 😎

I also like that it says "custom artist series" meaning that they'll definitely make one soon for Paul Gilbert (purple?) And most likely Tim Henson or Beabadoobee and who knows who else!

As someone who has been a Vai fan since they were a teen - his tones aren't great. At least not for most guitar sounds IMO.

The live tones are better than recorded but still have a quality to them that just lacks a certain depth. Not that he does this but it kinda reminds me of someone scooping out all of the mids and then cranking the volume to try to compensate.

I keep thinking the Synergy stuff and various other amps and things don't sound great but honestly, it is just the way he dials in his sound. The Synergy rig sounds like someone running through a Boss DS-1 into a Fender clean channel basically.....

Some of the best Vai tones for me was when he did that DVD with the Orchestra and stuff. Trying to listen to the recorded version of Attitude Song was painful after that.

Interesting that in a video over three minutes long, there isn't a single clip of the amp they're selling where Steve isn't talking over it.

Yeah, that was more of an interview and introduction to the product.. You can hear some of the presets here

I'm not wowed by it but then again, we're not wowed by tube amp demos either. I'm more into this little amp for the unique anesthetics and portability more than anything.

Oh cool, didn't see this video.

It's good they're showing clips then. If they didn't, I would have just assumed they're embarrassed by it. Yeah it's not a great big tube rig or anything but at that level, as long as they're showing something then it's fine enough.
