Owned a Marshall JVM410H very briefly about 10 years ago, maybe didnt really give it a fair shot. One showed up locally very cheap ($900 mint condition), definitely thinking about it. Thoughts?

I got one I bought when the prices went down.
I was in on that RigTalk group-buy when the amp first came out.

Personally, I like the amp for the most part. I keep the Gains on the lead channels around noon. Past that the gain channels won't clean up well when you turn the guitar down. Also, past noon starts getting muddy.

The Crunch ch could be better. The Clean ch takes pedals very well.

Rememeber, this was the amp that was gonna put all the modders and small companies out of business when it came out cause it was just so amazing

I'll give you $1000 for it if you hate it!😁 you're not going to get jcm 800 punch in the gut from a JVM, but if you like high gain Marshall tone there are some great tones in there. Just not as organic as an OG marshall.

Don’t do it. Does it really matter if an amp is 900 or 9000 if the tone is average? Unless you just want to see if you can flip it for a small profit. I’d rather put $900 towards something I know will really satisfy me.
This is why I didn’t pull the trigger on one with a trade. I decided I prefer unique over average.

I almost got a JVM, then a DSL, and ended up getting a Silver Jubilee Mini and love it. I had a JVM 210 or 410 probably 20 years ago and didn't have it long. Great amp but not as raw as yhe typical Marshall tone.
