I'm just trying to figure out the wiring properly. The friedman is a beast and it sounds authentic and amazing. You could get a UAFX Lion which has the Variac tone preset into it. Problem solved.

Pete thorn explains the one head "mono" hook up at around 18:50. I'll post a video of the one head tone with my splawn.
I gotta agree. It's just pointless signal path use. If you were using 2 amps I get it but...Yeah but why?
Is this a way to get/simulate wet/dry in mono? Does it sound better in some other way im not thinking of?
I understand what you're trying to do as far as signal path, but I don't understand what the benefit is when you're running one amp
I'm not trying to be pedantic I really just don't understand what the benefit is from either of the videos
Even if I run 3 amps. I'm still getting the dry signal to the friedman super low. Idk if it's because is a plexi style amp or what. I have seen others do it and I asked around.Yeah but why?

The entire loop. As soon as the SDE is hooked up I loose alot of volume just going through the loop. If I do 4cm it sound like aliens are coming to anal probe me.Are you experiencing volume loss just when the pedal is engaged, or when the entire loop is engaged?
Have you considered doing a factory reset on your SDE?The entire loop. As soon as the SDE is hooked up I loose alot of volume just going through the loop. If I do 4cm it sound like aliens are coming to anal probe me.
Yes I've done thatHave you considered doing a factory reset on your SDE?
The EVH-version of the SDE has a built-in noise gate which operates like an NS-2.Yeah but why?

If you remove the pedal and run a long cable between the send and return, do you still get volume drop? If so, do you get volume drop with a short cable? Do you get volume drop using a different pedal in the loop? The entire loop. As soon as the SDE is hooked up I loose alot of volume just going through the loop. If I take take SDE 3000 out of the loop everything is normal. I am still running other pedals through the loop. The EVH-version of the SDE has a built-in noise gate which operates like an NS-2.

It's set to fxIs your loop on the power station set to instrument or line level? This seems like the choke point
+1. Run the SDE into the loop, ditch 4CM. It's over-complicating it, and likely the culprit to the issue.I got that, my question is why would you run your input into the SDE?
I don't see what benefit you would get out of it besides making your signal chain needlessly more complex.
Why don't you just run your guitar into the input of the amp, and use the power station loop for the SDE? Or, if you want to run the SDE in front, why are you running the SDE through the power station at all?
I'm sure the volume loss is because youre using 4CM, what I can't for the life of me figure out is why you're using 4cm
Could beSounds like you experiencing a possible impedance issue going to the front of the Friedman Plex since you are driving the amp input via the pedal and then the signal from the SDE3000 feeding the loop of the Fryette PS. That's all I can think of.
But that's when I get the super low volume. The 4cm feel like I'm about to get a circumcision in an alien time warp with how it sounds.+1. Run the SDE into the loop, ditch 4CM. It's over-complicating it, and likely the culprit to the issue.
This is what I am doing but the send and return go to the power station fx loop.
See if there's a level setting on the SDE that's turned way down.Could be

Everything is at max with the sde engaged and it's low as soon as it's only going through the loop of the power station.See if there's a level setting on the SDE that's turned way down.
