Drugs to treat side effects of other drugs

Watching TV over the weekend a commercial for cramitall or whatever pill caught my attention. It was for a drug to treat side effects of SSRI's and other mental health drugs.

Have these mental health pills have caused nervous ticks, twitches, or other uncontrollable body movements? Are you self conscious about this an it's making you more depressed? Talk to your doctor, maybe these additional pills once a day are right for you. Side effects include blah, blah, blah, blah that are worse than the original drug.

So let me get this straight...
You're on mental health drugs that end up causing other uncontrollable problems that get you more depressed and essentially make things worse . So instead of of treating the root cause of everything where you don't need pills to begin with they're going to throw more drugs at you to "fix" the problems the first set of drugs caused. And the 2nd drug has subjectively worse side effects than the 1st. Throw jet fuel on a raging inferno to put it out; makes sense.

profits.

you know there's more profit in keeping people alive with meds vs curing disease. As an added profit motive, the side effects of these "maintenance drugs" often lead to additional complications, and more medical treatment required, including the OP drugs for side-effects of other drugs.

Big pharma = big money = big political influence.

I don't watch tv at home, but when I travel for business there's not much to do after work, dinner, etc., in the hotel; so I watch tv, mostly the commercials. I remember there being many drug commercials, but there are even more now; those commercials are not cheap to make or to air, especially during peak times...though I suspect with smaller audience numbers the prices may be lower?

It's insane that they still prescribe benzos for anxiety.

>have anxiety
>doc prescribes benzos
>anxiety goes away
>tolerance for dose builds after 1-2 weeks
>makes dose ineffective
>now anxiety has been suppressed and has rebound effect
>wind up with 10x the anxiety and mild drug addiction since you have to keep ramping the dose to get it's effect

Doctors pretend like they don't know this happens to everyone they do this to. Tell doctor this is what happens.
>"Well, we could try this again and see what happens this time!"
Doctors are great!

Big pharma response is “we need to have these prices and profits in order to invest in more research and testing for new drugs and cures” but an enormous amount of those profits goes to pay for the endless ads to sell what they already have on the market.

even more money goes to lobbyists and into political donations to buy ruling parasites and keep their profits flowing. it's interesting that many of the same drugs made by American companies, and foreign countries, are cheaper in other countries than the USA.

big pharma is just another industrial complex; like military/weapons, finance, energy, etc. tobacco was once a big political contributor - it's how they were able to suppress the health risks for decades...but today's industrial complexes are so entrenched it's corporatism; i.e., facsism.

enjoy the decline; at the top we have our ruling parasites and donor class (fascism) at the bottom we have our woke street thugs.

I’m on a helluva medication. I recieved my dose Friday and I literally felt like I was dying the rest of the day. Saturday was a little better but my back was hurting, probably that shit destroying my kidneys. Sunday was a little better still. Today I feel decent. One of the main side effects is a possible brain infection that can kill or retard your ass. I only have to worry about death… I’m already retarded…

It’s always bad side effects. Why can’t a side effect be like: if you take this medicine, your penis will become a lot bigger 🤣. If you take this medicine, your body will create a pheromone that will make only the most beautiful women want to have sex with you. Etc 🤷

Viagra was originally developed to treat high blood pressure and angina. So one positive side effect out of thousands.

some of the side effects are worse than the problem it addresses.

"may cause blindness, kidney failure, heart attack or death"

srsly?
