This one is tough cause it’s a capture through IRs ? Stock Rev Fs are great though , I had a F triple, all it needed was a boost and it was killer. The Rev Gs and 3 channel amps for me have that bloated , stiff / dry , yet loose lowend I don’t like. I just got a Ground Zero modded rev G and I’m very impressed so far. I was surprised by this clip but I think in this case it’s just the way he dialed. He set it a bit too bright and bitting on the top end. The GZ mod is very versatile, if you want less of that it can easily be set that way , with the bright switch, tight control, and bass 3 way switch, there is a lot of ways to shape the highs as well as the lowend.

This video shows the amps in the poll. Not my video.

I was thinking about a mod on my Rectifier. Interested in what experience and preferences everyone has ???

Those are quad cortex captures not the actual amps.

For what it’s worth, I love my Hermansson, but it doesn’t sound like a recto in the slightest .

I’d recommend a stock recto with a boost if you like the recto sound- the earlier the revision the better. If you just want a cool amp, the hermanssons are insanely good at that sound

The GZ Rev G in the video was my amp that I got modded by Jeremy. I feel like this is a case of how it was EQ'd. That amp was not that overly bright when I had it.

Don’t mod a Recto. They are getting classics. So many Marshalls been modded and now people are searching for stock ones.
Get a good boost and be done with it
Ya, I was thinking about this. I remember when guys would buy a 2203/2204 or superlead and immediately send it off for mods to their guy of choice. Now? The unmodded, unmolested Marshalls are getting top dollar and lots of guys are getting them un-modded.

I could see that happen with the Rev F's and Rev G's.

Based on those particular captures, the Mr Scary or KSR get the nod from me. The GZ was super bright and didn’t sound like the demos of the actual amp I’ve heard before. As others have said, Hermanssons just seem like a different beast.
