I was in junior high… everyone was painting crue and pentagrams with red spray paint on all the bus sheds everywhere around here… back then that meant they were a big deal…. “Trending” as the kids say nowadays…

6th grade for me .... Parents had just gotten cable ..... you would watch 8 hours of MTV's 80's greatest to hope to see the " Looks that Kill " video

I think Def Leppard's Photograph was the # 1 video of the week for the whole summer

The last great Crue album.

Not referring to the mixing, but based on the songs, their first album is their best. I still listen to it probably once a month or so.
To me the Crue has two great albums - Shout and Motley Crue w/ Corabi.

There was really nothing else that I cared for except oddly several songs off Generation Swine that basically everyone disowns lol.

They are the Taylor Swift of heavy metal.

Packaged and crammed down our pie holes.

I was going into 8th grade. Beginning to sneak out with a few beers to meet the ladies; trying to crack the bra strap or zipper. The smell of cinnamon gum, chaps cologne and the feel of a fuzzy sweater. Fuck that shit. The older I got, the less work I was interested in doing to drop the mushroom headed hammer.

Caught two shows here on that tour in the Bay Area

I was 12 and didn’t start playing guitar until I was 15.
Me and my friends wore that cassette out. Funny thing I remember most looking back is that we could not hear the bass (didn’t know what to listen for). We thought the guitar was the bass and the only thing Mick Mars did was play little fills and solos. We used to think Nicki Sixx was amazing and make fun of Mick Mars for doing so little. We were young and dumb about how to make music and record.

When shout at the Devil was released that was one of the first things my friend mentioned , you can’t hear the bass versus too fast for love the bass was pretty prominent in the mix

Ya I agree . But Dr feel good is the beginning of the modern production and modern guitar tone

Great album, i heard it at recess when i was in 2nd grade and it changed my life haha, before that i heard alot of def leppard,
led zep, billy idol, and aerosmith, but when i heard the shout at the devil album i loved it and my musical journey at 8 or 9 yrs old really got started, i still listen to this album alot and as time went on i craved heavier music but this was the album that started it for me.
