To me the Crue has two great albums - Shout and Motley Crue w/ Corabi. The last great Crue album.
Not referring to the mixing, but based on the songs, their first album is their best. I still listen to it probably once a month or so.
I use to have a pretty good ticket stubb collection ...... ex-wife took care of that for me ......threw those away .... along with a bunch of Guitar Mags from the 80's ....Caught two shows here on that tour in the Bay Area View attachment 345689
I too was in 8th grade in '83 when it came out. The summer of '83 through the fall of '84 was an exciting time for music.I was in 8th grade in ‘83 when I came home from the record store with SATD and Holy Diver.
MIND BLOWN….
When shout at the Devil was released that was one of the first things my friend mentioned , you can’t hear the bass versus too fast for love the bass was pretty prominent in the mixI was 12 and didn’t start playing guitar until I was 15.
Me and my friends wore that cassette out. Funny thing I remember most looking back is that we could not hear the bass (didn’t know what to listen for). We thought the guitar was the bass and the only thing Mick Mars did was play little fills and solos. We used to think Nicki Sixx was amazing and make fun of Mick Mars for doing so little. We were young and dumb about how to make music and record.
Ya I agree . But Dr feel good is the beginning of the modern production and modern guitar toneThe last great Crue album.

That's $31.79 too much to pay for MC tickets.I know it's not a very scientific approach but just for fun I ran the price of the ticket in 1983 into an inflation calculator
