Dokken kiss of death live philly in 1987

Ah..the good ol days...
My notes:
Man that is a thin and bright sound!
Don could still sing
Pilson and Brown were a super solid rhythm section for the band.

I saw Dokken on that tour, they were opening for Aerosmith. I was sitting front row on George’s side of the stage. His sound/tone coming off the stage was LOUD, and sounded nothing like it does in those clips from Philly. I wonder if the mics on George’s cabs were out of phase, which would account for the thin sound?
George is a monster.

I too saw that tour where I live in the front row back then. I did not know much about Dokken then. I thought all of those snakeskin covered Marshall stacks were cool and on of course ha. My takeaways back then was that Lynch was badass and that he did not like the singer. They never looked at each other at all. I think I was 15. Aerosmith was good but I liked the previous tour better (Done with Mirrors).

I caught them in Providence on Halloween on this tour, they were LOUD and Georges tone was way better than what I hear here. It almost sounds like his rockman feed is louder here, rather than how he used to tuck it back in the mix except during solos.
Loved the snakeskin cabs as well!
I night or 2 later, they played New Haven, where my friend watched Georg put his foot through one of the speakers, as he was having sound issues that night.

Always dig hearing Lynch live from the 80's. I own that neck off the tiger he was playing that night. Made by Karl Sandoval and nearly as wide a classical guitar neck.

I always thought it was a trip that he didn`t have a Floyd on that Tiger guitar at the time , only because most everyone had a Floyd on their Super Strats at the time . He didn't have one on his Graffiti guitar either
