The Rig Manager software will only recognize/locate the Kemper if I have Rig Manager on first. If I boot up the software after I turn the head on, I have to restart the head. I have the Kemper toaster head, if it matters. All my software is up to date.

Is this normal?

I have never had this issue. I usually plug my Kemper into the computer and then open the Rig Manager software.

I’ve had exactly the same experience, F-Red.
As long as I have Rig Manager up and running when I connect and turn on Kemper, everything works perfectly.
Doesn’t work the other way around for me either.

Same. I don't know if this is normal or a bug

But it's "just the way it is" so I've gone with it

Surely unplugging and reconnecting the USB cable would be the quickest solution... if it worked.

Tried it? In theory it should alert the software to its presence, so to speak.

Yes -- it works. Not sure why the Kemper is this way -- sounds like some units do it and some don't

My cousin has one too, and I pretty much schooled him on everything as he’s too lazy to watch the tutorials online…

When we were setting his up and hooked everything up in the ‘wrong order’ with rig manager, his did not connect either until we did it the ‘right’ way. 😉

Interesting, I can’t say I have that problem with mine. Most of the time I leave my kemper on anyways so it’s pretty much always “already on” when I open rig manager

Are you guys using Windows or Apple?
Yeah, if it's Apple, you better open up an ITunes account and schedule an appointment via online only. Do not call them!

Good one guys! You were supposed to all be on one or the other so we could see an easy pattern.

For what it’s worth I’m on a Mac and don’t have this problem. I start up the kemper first usually. Then rig manager.

I do sometimes find if the laptop goes to sleep it loses the connection and doesn’t seem to recognise.

Has anyone tried lodging an official ticket with Kemper?

The answer to Kemper Questions is: Get a Tube Amp. :D Sorry ;)

I actually played my JMP 2203 yesterday. Then last night jumped back on my kemper and it was more useful.

Sure if I had my own recording booth or concert hall I’d maybe only play tubes. But I love my kemper in the home “studio”.
Fair enough! :)
